Hello.....Here's a question to you Global Workers, Travelers and Explorers. I posted this question on one other site and I thought you would also be a good audience for this question......Given, say, two months, where would you go for vacation (or during retirement) if you could choose a SINGLE destination (city, town) anywhere in the world. The objective being to familiarize yourself with the local culture, language, find a friend or more, etc., without packing and unpacking suitcases and…

Not sure if this should be here or in Australia, but here it goes. I'm an American and have been approved for a working holiday visa in Australia.

My question is, now what? I have read some say to get an Australian Tax ID before you go and others say wait till you're there. I'm not sure which is better, but I'm leaning toward applying for it now if possible. Any thoughts on that?

Also, does anyone have info on opening a bank account there? Again, I've read conflicting things about it. Some…

Just a general question - I'm an Aussie and a speech pathologist/therapist and I'm thinking about working overseas, but it looks like I might be too old to have the 'work in the UK' experience as I am now 32 and I don't wish to work there under sponsorship (due to less pay and longer time commitments). Does anybody know of any other countries that do not have age restrictions to obtain work visas? I'm thinking of obtaining necessary teaching English qualifications as well, but again I have the…

I will be moving to the city of Bihac in Bosnia-Hercegovina and would like to know more about this city--livability, atmosphere, lifestyle, selection/variety of restaurants, etc. I know the basic info from reading the TT and researching on the web, but I would like to get a better idea of day-to-day living in the city of Bihac. (I am cross-posting in the "Bosnia-Hercegovina" section of TT as well.)

Many thanks for any information.

I hope I am allowed to write that in this forum, if not, I am thankful for advice as where to post it.

I have been living in Colombia for the last 8 years and will be going back to Austria for family reasons for the next few years. I will not sell my house, but I want to rent it to someone who is willing to pay the rent into my European account in Euros. Otherwise I could rent it locally, but banktransfers are quite complicated here. I want to rent the house for a minimum of 1 year.

It is a…

Howdy,

My wife and I run our own web business, and love to travel. We'd like to find somewhere with decent infrastructure (read: reliable Internet connection) where we could shack up for 6 -12 months and live on $2,000 a month.

We are SOOOO open: any country/continent so long as it meets those two criteria!

Things we dig:

beaches
mountains
cheap street food
booze
hiking/walking

Any suggestions are much appreciated!

Thanks,

Coz

I'm looking ahead to post-grad plans, including teaching English abroad (China, Spain, Argentina, even France or Italy would be fine!). I've NO idea how to even begin down this path. Do I need TOEFL certification? Where can I find more information?

Hi all.

I'm looking to get myself a spangly new IEC for Canada for 2012 (it's recently changed from a WHV to an International Experience Canada Visa). I'm travelling for 6 months or so beforehand from the beginning of next year and looking to go to Canada roughly September/October-time.

I've looked on the website but I'm still not 100% sure how it works and wondered if some of you lovely people could enlighten me? Basically I would like to know, with my planned timeframe, when do I need to…

Hi there,

Something hit me recently as I was thinking about when I get old and need a pension. I have chosen a lifestyle where I go from one country to another every few years (to work and live). The money I earn is usually re invested in travelling, and I haven't started to save yet (I'm 26 - I don't usually earn enough to save money since I choose to travel a bit). My question is this: (while I know that a pension is not enough), what do you guys out there like me do since by hopping from one…
