Hi All,

I have some questions for people who have taken TEFL courses online and gained a certificate that allows them to teach english abroad? I'd like some responses and experiences from people who have actually done this. What courses they have done, which supplier with, and what country they have travelled and is it really worth it?

I havent been to university yet unfortunately, I'm 23, a natual academic(so I'm told) and would love to teach English. Maybe start this abroad ( which is…

Hi, i know there are many posts about visas but i cant find any information to answer the specific question i have.

I will be applying for a Tier 5 Visa to the UK. I am aware i will need to have around the equivalent of 1600 pounds in my account. What i can't find very clear information on is what exactly they want to know about this money. I had my uncle transfer a lump sum from an account that actually is my inheritance but is not in my name. I was then told that this will not be accepted as…

Hi there,

I've been researching for hours on both this forum and the internet in general, and I just can't find the info I'm looking for. My questions are about my partner's and my job, and how it works out in Australia (specifically Melbourne)

Electrician:

What sort of salary do electricians get in Victoria - A Grade license + 10 years experience

ESL Teacher

Through my research I found that the best place to teach English as a foreign language is in a TAFE, but it is still unclear to me…

Not sure where to post this but I thought given that some people may have been through this before moving on to pastures new and further afield they may have experienced something similar and be able to relate to it.

There was an interesting article in The Guardian today about people in their 20's / early 30's that experience 'quarterlife crises' from too much pressure and feeling trapped in their careers and basically from the change of being a student to becoming a professional. The article…

Cross post from the UK & Ireland branch.

Ok, just received a communication from the guys in Cork who want me to work for them. They've asked what my rate would be given that they would cover travel and accommodation for a 3 month contract. I think of Mike Dooley and now I have this thing to deal with that I have thought about for a long time. Are any of you Engineering Professionals of know an Expat Engineering Professional who would have a good idea of what a proper rate should be? In the US I…

Hi everyone,

I wondered if you could help?

My husband and I are travelling to Queensland (Australia) from the UK on a working holiday.
I am a primary teacher and have applied to teach in Queensland. Assuming my application is accepted, I wondered if there are teachers from the UK who have experienced supply teaching in Oz (mainly Queensland)?

Were you given frequent work? Or did you have to find an alternative job?

Where in Queensland did you find it easiest/best to pick up supply?

Were…

I need to transfer a sum of close to AUD 6 figures to Russia. The problem is that banks and money changers in Aust are fantastically greedy, with spreads of several percent. At the Russian - Siberian - end, there are pretty reasonable in regard to Euro and USD, which you can convert to or from roubles at a cost of the order of .1%. However, the only bank in town that does AUD, which I from experience have dubbed Zver'bank (a little phonetic joke there for the cognoscenti - I'm amazed that it…

Hi, All--

Until recently I worked as a SW engineer in the US, and I am interested in working abroad in Malaysia. Are there job boards, websites, or recruiting places you'd recommend where I can find a job in tech? Visa issues aren't a problem for me. Thanks in advance!
