hi,

I am a British Citizen and I applied for a Working Holiday Visa and had to have a chest xray as I have previously lived in countries that are considered to be high risk for TB.

I have been checking the progress of my application online and they received my chest xray results one month ago. I haven't heard anything since.

I emailed the department and got an automated response saying that medical results should take 6 days to process.

I have a few months before I want to enter Australia, so I can wait for this. The problem is, I am leaving the UK sooner as I am going to Australia as part of a RTW trip. I am worried that the embassy might contact me after I have left the UK to tell me that I need to go back to the Drs for a medical, or visit the Embassy, and that I won't be able to do this.

My other worry is that there is something else I should have sent and that I will just wait and wait and they won't contact me till I figure it out for myself!

Does anyone know:

-how long this process normally takes?
-when the embassy have checked my medical results, is there anything else I need to do while I am still in the UK? Assuming that they decide I don't have TB (I'm pretty sure I don't), do I have to go back to the Dr's or to the embassy to get anything signed off or is the visa just issued automatically?

Thank you
