Me and my friend are looking to work in Cadiz, Andalusia this June 2012 for the summer and was wondering if anyone knew how easy it is to get work with only basic Spanish? We are both in our 20s, female, and have previous experience in bar work/ customer service etc etc...

Any info would be great thanks!!

Unemployment for under 25s in Spain stands at over 50% right now. I'm guessing it could be even higher in Cadiz, as it's always had one of the highest unemployment rates. Young Spaniards are pouring out of the country in search or work in the UK, Germany and Latin America. So - it may not be the best time to look!
Also - what's your nationality? If you're from outside the EU, you're unlikely to find work legally.
Sorry for the negativity, but it's probably best to be prepared before you jump on a flight!

Without Spanish, you could possibly look for work at an English school summer camp - they may be looking for activity leaders etc. These kind of organisations would be recruiting people from abroad, whereas you are unlikely to secure bar work in Cadiz from your home country.

Suerte!

I don't know if summer camps interest you, but TECS has a couple summer camps in the region.

The province of Cádiz has an unployment rate of more than 35%. The unemployment rate for people under 25 years old will be even higher. That makes difficult for you to find a job.

You didn't say what's your nationality but if you aren't from the EU, you should be aware you'll need a work visa in order to work legally in Spain making it even more difficult.
