I'm a 23 yr old student currently enrolled at Uni. in the U.S and was hoping to find a place in europe this summer(may-august) a friend and I could live and work. I've already lived in England for a period of time and would love to find a different place to spend the summer. Certainly looking for city/night life, just curious if anyone has done this...and recommendations for work/place to stay. And perhaps where it would be easiest for 2 yanks(I hold an irish passport) to find a job in Europe. We are currently looking at Rome and Amsterdam as possiblities but I'm open to anywhere. Really the only thing is I don't have oodles of money so would like to live a cheap life style except for my bar tab =) cheers for any advice

work at Irish bars etc - big cities in Europe are damn expensive - better concentrate on midsized towns

Greek islands? Plenty of cash in hand bar/restaurant/tourist jobs on all the islands. Just about enough pay to survive on. Does your friend also have an EU country passport though? If not, far less likely to get work anywhere. S/he will also be limited to 90 in 180 days in any of the Schengen countries.
