Am playing rugby in Spain from September. Am Australian citizen and am going through a type of rugby union broker to play. Normal travel insurance doesn't cover injuries from rugby. Any suggestions or information on how to go about ensuring I am covered.
Other advice on the region around Alicante/Valencia and living there appreciated.

It would be worth contacting the ARU regarding this. Heaps of Aussies play rugby overseas these days, so I'm sure they'd have some idea of who insures them all! Good luck.

There are a few travel insurance companies which have an additional clause for "extreme sports" rugby falls into theis catagory. So for an extra fee some companies will cover any injury caused by playing/training etc. I'm not sure which companies will cover you from Oz though. Maybe you could ask you rugby broker. I'm sure they'll be able to give you a bit of info.
Have fun playing in Spain - the standard to say the least isn't great.
