Hi there, I'm thinking of teaching English for a year in South Korea, and though I have what's required (a UK passport and a Bachelor's degree), I'd like to take a TEFL course to boost my qualifications and make me more prepared for it.

Ideally I'd like to take it in South Korea so I can take advantage of any contacts that the course teachers might have - but there are a lot of TEFL courses being advertised, and thus I'm not sure which one to go with. Can anyone recommend me a course in particular, or at least tell me which ones to avoid?

I've seen these ones and they look almost identical in terms of what they offer:

http://www.tefllife.com/
http://www.teflcourse.net/
http://www.teflinternational.com/
http://www.teflcourse.com/

Are they worth it, or are they rip-offs?

If there aren't any reputable courses in South Korea, I'm willing to take a course in either Thailand or Vietnam, so could someone recommend me a course or warn me off courses for those countries?

Thanks,

Ming

TEFL International - the people who operate all those different websites - obviously has a good marketing program where they try to dominate the internet search engines by having many websites. Great marketing!

Does it mean they are less of a quality provider of TEFL Training courses - I don't know. Search the net - see what people say. That's why Google is there.

Those are all the same. CELTA, SIT, and Trinity are the top three. Any course with 120 horus and 6 of practical teaching is fine. Here's some more info.
