I'm heading to Europe in March 2012 for the first time (excluding a flight to england with my Grandmother) and am planning to work in pubs in the UK. I can get an ancestral visa and have been looking at a few sites which are supposed to help you out with getting a job. The ones I have emailed don't respond, so I don't really want to pay them to help find a job. Does any one know of helpful agencies to get live-in pub jobs in the UK? After working there I would like to see what seasonal work I can pick up around Europe, and what's on the internet seems to be limited. Any help/advice would be much appreciated :-)

Since this is country specific, why not ask on the UK branch?

Also I am pretty sure that there are some expat fourms on the web for Australians looking for jobs in the UK. They might be a better place than a travel forum.

Hi there try the Uk jobcentre ,jobseekers.direct.gov.uk/
but live in pub jobs are few and far between and you will find them mostly in rural areas not towns and again it will mostly be hotels. Very few pub landlords will use private agencies due to the cost as there is no shortage of eastern europeans who want to work.

Reckon you've probably been scared off by people here like but in case you do come back......

As the above says, there are not an abundance of live in pubs, especially city centre pubs which is where your best chance of work is.
You're best getting on the likes of www.spareroom.co.uk finding yourself a room to bed down in and then get pub and bar work, unlike other countries in Europe our bars and pubs don't advertise for people from other countries etc, they'll just advertise locally. It's very easy to get bar work though, I've worked in more than enough.

Any more advice, message me.
