Hello,

I'm dying to travel before I start uni (again) in September 2008, and I've decided I REALLY NEED to work in a hostel!

I'm a 23 year old English chick, I have a degree in English Lit and I lived in Spain for 4 months last year where I learned Spanish (I'm still learning now too!). I've never worked in a Hostel before, but I've worked in shops so I can do customer service and I work in a supermarket now where I clean and sometimes waitress in the customer cafe. I've also been an English as a Foreign Language Teacher, Nursery and After School Club Assistant and Charity Fundraiser!
I'm really friendly and I give any oppertunity my all!

I'd ideally like to work in Spain, but I'll consider anywhere and I'm avaliable from Feb/March-ish 2008 to August 2008.

Can anyone help me!

(P.S. new here, so if this is in the wrong place or innapropriate then sorry!)

You should just get on a plane to Spain, set up camp in a bigger city or maybe somewhere close a beach and start looking for work locally rather than on the internet. Find out before you go what places you'd like to work for and then apply when you get there or send your application before you arrive already.

If your really set on working in a hostel and are willing to stay in the UK you should try the Youth Hostel Association www.yha.org.uk. Seasonal position start around February and some end in August, you could end up anywhere in the country (okay not as exoitic as Spain ...) I did it for a season up near the Lake District and loved it, and it gave me the experience and the confidence to help manage a hostel in New Zealand when I was out there last year. I thought it was and excellent way to get experience that looks great on my CV when travelling.
