Hi All,

I've been contacted by a company called De-Vere Group regarding a job away. I know a guy who done this and worked in Russia. Does anyone have any experience of working for these in another country? I want to teach English Abroad ideally however I believe this is a sales organization? Has any got any experiences they could share I'm curious more than anything?

Thanks

T

The name is not enough to go by. There is a De Vere financial company and a De Vere hotel company.

There are tons of language schools almost everywhere. Don't pay a middle man. Go somewhere you're curious about to start with.

Working overseas has rewards you can't know about yet.
*see profile.

You've got friends out there you haven't met yet.
Talk with locals, wherever you go.
And travel slow for more of your time and money's worth.

Working overseas is survival money only. But the rewards OMG!

good luck.
Its all bs till ya do it.

What makes this company doubtful is that THEY contacted YOU. Not the other way around.

Unless you have an extra-ordinary background, you should wonder what it is they want from you. Perhaps they want you to pay them for a job that you could find on your own? Or ?

It should be fairly obvious that anytime someone you have never met contacts you and offers you something - that perhaps you should take a much closer look at what they are proposing.

If someone you didn't know approached you on the street and offered you something - would you wonder what they wanted? I sure would. This is no different.

Gawkabout - Survival money? Rewards? Like the experiences, culture, new life etc? What would you suggest doing then? I’m looking to teach English abroad, bit of new experience, bit of teaching experience, why not? Lifes for living. I haven’t got a degree, I’m looking to do a TEFL and perhaps Celta course but in countries like China, Czech Republic and others you don’t need one I’ve been told. How do you mean ‘ don’t pay the middle man?’
