I am a Swedish nationality girl (EU passport) based in UK. Can my boyfriend (Malaysian nationality) apply for an EU passport too if I get marry to him? And if so, how long would it take and what information I need to provide to the home office?
After marrying him, can he work in UK with me ie. when applying job is he in the temporary visa? His Post Study Visa is expiring in November 2011.
Any advice will be much appreciated.

I would suggest you ask the professionals - the UK Foreign Office website has all the info you need. However, IF he can get an "EU" passport he will certainl;y NOT get into UK without extra documentation, and the UK is tight on that.

There are NO EU passports. Passports are issued by countried and every country has different rules.
You also need to check the rules in your country. If you marry, is he automatically entitled to a Swedish passport? If yes, then it doesn't matter what the rules are in the UK becasue with a Swedish passport, he can live in the UK.
OTOH perhaps it takes some years to get a Swedish passport or there are language requirements, then the rules of the UK come into play and while he may be entitled to residence with you, that doesn't mean that he can work in the UK.

Ditto everbrite's comments. He would have to apply for a Swedish passport if you were married. Therefore it is Swedish Immigration that you need to get information from.
As for staying in the UK, he will only be able to do so IF he has a Swedish passport by then.
If you marry your boyfriend and the marriage is regarded consisting under Swedish law, the your then husband has the right to join you as a spouse of an EEA/EU national if and only if you excerise your treaty rights You should enter UKBA's website where everything is explained in plain English.. Marriage to a Swedish citizen doesn't automatically confer Swedish citizenship, and there is residency requirement among other things. I don't remember whether the marriage must take place in Sweden.
I would think there is probably no EU country anymore where marriage to a citizen automatically confers citizenship.
If you marry, then your husband can live and work in the UK (or any other EU country, except Sweden) under EEA laws, which are comparatively paperwork-light (and free!), compared to the normal UK laws, for instance. (He may be eligible to live in Sweden under separate Swedish laws.) He will not be eligible for UK citizenship any sooner than after five years of residency. I have no clue about the Swedish rules. He must live with you, and you must be exercising your EU rights in the UK (i.e., working, studying, or supporting yourself).
no country gives you a passport just for marrying a national.
However, a foreign spouse may be entitled to a residency visa- even in a 3rd EU country. My US wife got a residency visa for the UK thanks to my Dutch passport.
