can a canadian legally buy land in cuba in his name?

No foreigner (Canadian or otherwise) can buy property in Cuba, as everything is owned by the government. Even Cubans themselves can, in theory, be evicted from their homes even though they have a deed. They were selling condos on some resorts a few years' back, but as far as I know, that stopped. Shame though...
