In a recent trip to Madagascar I had two guides both male, one was called Armi pronouned Army the other was pronounced Rosy and I am wondering how the second is spelt and where the names come from.

I have looked and got nowhere.

It could be (or probably was) Rosin.

I guess it is. I once met someone with that name who was from Madagascar (living in France).
