However, I just played a game in which in the "two languages" round I was asked to distinguish between Serbian and Croatian. I'm not sure even a Serb or Croat could do that reliably based on a very short clip (though I happened to guess right).
I got Malay & Indonesian. I guessed wrong.
I'm stuck at 350 again, with Maltese, Hungarian and Ukranian dragging me down; I could not differentiate between Polish and Ukranian.
After that still 350, with Romanian, Polish, Bosnian wrong. Those who know the Slavic languages must do quite well?
With Bosnian, Slovenian and Turkish wrong, I got 550. This game is so addictive!!

Northern Sami, farsi, Bangla - 1250. (by fluke.)

I died at 300, but I have to admit that I don't know english good enough to recognize some of the laguges they asked for.
I've played several times. My high was 1350 (with only one other score over 1,000 so far), and my low--achieved two games ago--was 350. That's quite a spread. And I see the high score is 6,850, so we're all pikers if that's to be believed.
It helps when the speaker says "Ethiopia" and one of the options is Amharic.
