The oddly worded "how many languages" poll has graced this branch for well over a year. Today I noticed that it is scheduled to remain there for 31,648 more years. While that certainly displays supreme confidence in the durability of TT, I think it may be time to take it down or at least come up with a new poll.

I wonder if the mods know something about 26 September 33658 that we don't know. Is 26 September 33658 the new 21 December 2012?

I just googled up something called epoch time. It's, like, totally cosmic!

On February 13, 2009 at exactly 23:31:30 (UTC), the decimal representation of Unix time was equal to '1234567890'. Parties and other celebrations were held around the world . . . . to celebrate the 1234567890 day

(Pouts at not having been invited to any 1234567890 Unix Time parties.)

(Then thinks of who would have been there and cheers up.)

Here's the perfect gift for someone who might go to such a party.

I see they also make slide rules. I'm glad somebody does.

I just found my old slide rule the other day. And discovered that I no longer remember how to use it.

That's a great web site. I'm not sure what I need more, the Control-a-Cat Remote Control (Directions: Point at subject, press button, hope for the best), the duct tape passport holder, or the titanium spork.

I have an old slide rule too but I never did learn how to use it. God only knows why I kept it and even brought it to France.

Yes, that spork caught my eye too, nutrax. And I know someone who's going to get "Cthulhu in Love" perfume in his stocking this year...
