This is a link to a Nenets folk choir (The Nenets, or Nentsy, are a minority ethinc group living in Russia's Far North) performing "We are the champions" as part of Russian TV's Olympic ad campaign:

That's great - thanks for the link.

I couldn't help thinking they recorded that in a studio with a very authentic-looking set behind them. If the snow were real, wouldn't you see their breath, or the breath of the reindeer whey it grunts?

Regardless, it was fun to watch; thanks for posting it.

Do all Nentsy women wear that much makeup?

Keep going - there are several other versions with folk ensembles from different regions!

Ahem, how embarrassing would it be to admit that I had no idea that there was an episode Olympic Games coming up, let alone that they were in Vancouver? Nice logo, though. (And I know that it's an inukshuk. Does that count for something?)

Cool music.

Thanks, Vinny. That, too, can't be going on. (I mean, that's in 2010!)

The Olympic Games are starting within a few weeks. I really don't know how I hadn't heard a thing about it until yesterday.

Maybe because it's in Canada. You never hear anything about Canada here.
