"Favor de dejar..." is gramatically incorrect.

No it is not. "Hagan (or háganme) el favor de dejar la puerta abierta" is perfectly correct.

You can find a way to use deje, dejen, deja or dejá. All of them correct.

Correct or not, "hacer" is very commonly omitted in Mexico and the United States, leaving constructions like "favor de dejar ..."

It's Mexico where I've seen this construction, and in many places. E.g. (even in schools) "Favor de hacer su pago en la caja", "Favor de no fumar" "Favor de tener su boleto en la mano" etc etc. It's very common. So perhaps a case of not being acceptable in Spain, but perfectly acceptable in other Spanish-speaking countries.

LuZbelito,
do you know what beats me? Having to quote myself to make you understand something that is beyond your understanding.

Then LuZbelito wrote:

Which contradicts what I said AND contradicts itself, since I didn't say that "Hagan el favor de dejar la puerta abierta" is incorrect.
Then I said:
<blockquote>Quote
<hr>Yes, it is.<hr></blockquote>
Yes, it is incorrect
Since you explained yourself so badly, I had to add: (and now I quote myself; [to read slowly] this I have to explain for you to understand me)
<blockquote>Quote
<hr>"Hagan el favor de dejar..." is not incorrect.<hr></blockquote>This, I give it to you.
And...
<blockquote>Quote
<hr>"Favor de dejar..." is incorrect.<hr></blockquote>
Do you undestand now, percebito? [To read veeeery slowly, too]
