I saw that on the wiki page and wondered myself! I couldn't work out whether it was saying Australia got Ikea in the 70s (I suspect no?) or Ikea put out the Doona in the 70s.

Perhaps they sold some of their stuff there without opening the store. They do that in NZ - it's possible to buy Ikea in a couple of stores but there's no actual Ikea.

Originally the term continental quilt was the standard name used across Australia, and some regions continue to use this term.

I don't know if it was the original or standard name in the UK, but 'continental quilt' was quite widely used here at one time - I always imagined (rightly or wrongly) that people who used it were trying to sound 'fancy'. I haven't heard it in ages though.

Hasn't rubbers taken on a whole new meaning? Still offering some form of protection I guess.

I understand all of the words in the OP (using galoshes in the sense of overshoes) but I wouldn't use many of them. They are all words that were used by my grandparents, who were born between 1912 and 1922.
