This thread is fine for isolated phrase translation and questions about words and points of grammar. My objective is to maintain a flow of conversation where people can write in French, not with the objective of translation. I want them to think only in French unless they really have to explain something in English or compare something to another language. Other French speakers can comment whatever is written and can raise issues of grammar and vocabulary incidental to what people have written.
I like the serendipity of Speaking in Tongues and I especially like reading tidbits about languages unknown to me. I am new here, so it is not my intention to initiate changes. Perhaps some will find it useful to create threads to group postings by language, where you could to if you want to know about or can contribute to the discussion.
As for the project I have started, you are very welcome to write in French there and I would enjoy your interaction. I am not the native speaker, but I really how some of them will lend their competence. Otherwise, I expect the thread will be short lived.
