As we approach December 12th, the feast day for Our Lady of Guadalupe, I've been thinking about the song "las mananitas." Â Does anyone know the history of the song? How long has it been sung, where did it originate, and why the specific reference to King David? I've tried googling and am giving up. Thanks to anyone who can help!
