Is french jour related to german jahr, english year? it sounds incredible but appearently jahr is related to russian ярость (yarost') -anger -ярь was the pagan russian god of the sun, whence also яркий- bright.

I think jour relates to latin diurnalis, daily, from dies, day. That relates to various gods' names: Tiu, Diana, Deva, Jupiter, Zeus, but not to any Slavic ones that I know of, or to year or Jahr.
