The Arabic version of "like father like son" is "The son of a duck is a floater." Unfortunately, I keep seeing a different definition of "floater," one that has to do with excrement.

Hmm. He's messed up all the Russian to varying degrees, which doesn't exactly inspire confidence in the rest. They're mostly minor spelling and transliteration errors, but in the third one he actually leaves out a key word.

1) Ездить в Тулу со своим самоваром (Yezdit' v Tulu so svoim samovarom) = To go to Tula with your own samovar.

2) Когда рак свистнет (Kogda rak svistnet) = When the crayfish whistles.

3) Пуганая ворона куста боится (Puganaya vorona kusta boitsya). = A frightened crow is afraid of a bush.

They ran two separate words together in the Arabic. Ibn al batt 'awwam. The ' is a consonant, not marking a missing letter.
