Hahaha.. ok, I need someone who speaks Mandarin well enough to know the 4-character phrases.
The phrase I'm interested in is 头å·ç²ä¸ (tou-head hao-number/roar fensi-vermicelli). I'm pretty sure head roar vermicelli is not the meaning :)

Are these the characters you mean: 头号粉丝
(Unless and until the powers-that-be make the site more language-friendly the most reliable way to get characters to post is to post them in Unicode. Here's a conversion tool. )
My Mandarin is still very basic, but this online dictionary gives 头号 as "first-rate" or "top quality." Are you sure this is a 4-character idiom and not simply a reference to some excellent noodles? The dictionary usually picks up on 4-character idioms and defines them appropriately.
fen si is also used in entertainment news, especially in Taiwan's press, as a transliteration of 'fans' of pop stars.
Thus, tou hao fen si in the context of entertainment news, can mean the number one fan.

Chinese characters, like every feature of Thorn Tree, used to work fine and is now completely screwed up.
touhao fensi means #1 fan
