This is a longshot but does anyone have any expertise in German last names?

I am looking for the spelling of a German last name that would sound like the word "Ranger" when pronounced in English. (Can't even attempt to pronounce it in German.) Thank you!

Röntgen? An English-speaker might pronounce it "Rain-jen," "Runt-jin," etc.

Reinger?

Are you sure about the pronunciation? The sound represented by the "g" in Ranger does not exist in German.

This might be one of the reasons why people here have difficulties coming up with something reasonable.
