French language book for Thai

Interest forums / Speaking in Tongues

hi,
I will be in Thailand soon and would like to buy a book written in thai script to learn French language.
(It's for a thai friend who cannot easily read western characters, so i might need one book for this and another for learning french itself)
Does anyone know where i could try to find this kind of language book in Bangkok / Khorat / Pattaya ?
Thanks in advance
Bruno

What is this "western alphabet" of which you speak? The letter 'j', for instance, stands for various different sounds depending on whether you're reading English, Spanish, French, German, Croatian, Portuguese or Finnish.

I can't imagine an introductory French textbook in any language that wouldn't begin by introducing the letters used in French and the sounds they stand for. Mastering the alphabet is simply a prerequisite for studying most languages. (Even with Chinese, where reading and speaking are sometimes taught as separate skills at the beginning, you really can't go very far without learning to read.)

There's a bookstore at the Alliance Française in Bangkok. If what you're looking for exists, you'll probably find it there:
