This is a new page on snopes, the urban legend debunkers. It's a sign that has been Photoshopped to look like it announced that Barack Obama was born in Kenya. Birth Sign.

What I'm interested in is this
>Readers who understand the non-English writing have told us that although it is malformed--the letters are disconnected and the words are spelled backwards--the word under "Kenya" is actually Arabic for "Hawaii," the message at the bottom of the sign says "Not the birthplace of Barack Obama," and the script under the "Welcome to" legend is the equivalent of "Paul is dead."

Do you see the same thing? See this discussion for the original comments from "readers."

That's right, except that the top line is more like "Paul has been buried" (reading left to right). It could be that that's a normal way of saying "Paul is dead" that I'm not familiar with.

I have woefully little Arabic ("woeful," because I've been living in an Arabic-speaking country for the past 6 months) but even I can see that the word under "Kenya" is "Hawaii" spelled backwards (i.e left to right, instead of the Arab right to left).

A good laugh...or it would be, but for the fact that there are millions of cranially-challenged Americans who take this kind of thing seriously.

One of the people in the discussion figured that "Paul has been buried" refers to "I buried Paul."

Just in case someone doesn't get the reference. Paul is Dead

Nope. I used to post on the snopes message board many years ago, but haven't been there in ages. However, I do check the snopes updates regularly, just to see what stories are out there.
