'AOR' means Adult Oriented Rock. Adult as opposed to pop aimed at kids rather than blue. It is usually derogatory, and rightly so:

AOR nightmare

"stumbled over" is an apt use of words -- the books are generally big.

I was given a coffee-table version of "The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire", which shows that not all coffee table books are low on content. It's an enormous heavy thing.

Often too big for a bookshelf; too heavy for normal reading, pictorial and expensive -- thus, implying for show or display.

I recently came across the illustrated collected works of Jane Austen in coffee-table format. It was so huge and heavy you would need to place it on a lectern in order to actually read it. There were a number of other classics available in the same format. Definitely books for decorating with rather than for reading.
