hi, i think you should recondider your travel plans again. now that you have bought the ticket why not just try?! you will find out that the difference between the ca countries are not that big anymore as far as crime is concerned. violence is mainly among gangs in the poorer quarters and doesnt effect tourist centers that much. what i mean is that if you stick to the more touristy areas and use commen sense your exposure is not much bigger in guate than in costa rica.
so i would recommend to go…
Hi there,
My boyfriend and I will be flying into Liberia on March 3rd and 8:40pm looking for some suggestions on a budget hotel in Liberia for that night, $40 and under for both of us, preferably with a private bathroom. I'm trying to find some info on Hotel Liberia but I can't seem to find anything. Any suggestions?
Thank you!
Hi Friends,
I am wondering if any special equipment or clothes are advisable for hiking the forests in Costa Rica. I plan to hike Manuel Antonio, Corcovado (Sirena), Monteverde, & maybe Arenal area, mostly with a local guide, day hikes (ie not with overnight backpack).
What equipment would I plan to bring for these hikes? By that I mean:
-do I need special hiking boots, or are my Nike running shoes okay? Do I need something that covers the ankles (ie as safety in the event of a snake bite)…
Hey There,
You say they have a lower price than you other places.
It might be a good thing to ask why. It is because they are unlicensed, have shoddy equipment or take unfair advantage of illegal immigrant workers?
I'm not saying expensive is necessarily better, but if somewhere is noticably cheaper than the norm, there is usually a reason, and it may be one that you don't want to be involved in.
I have never been to Nicaragua, so you should ask Solohobo about that...
But why do you think your tour company saved MA for last? And suggesting you stay there 2 days?
It's the very, very best. That's why it is so popular and crowded... Be sure to get a guide; it's the best $20 you will spend!! The guides have a telescope and know where the good sites are and can point out things you would never see otherwise. Take plenty of water and plan to take all the side trails...
We are travelling 5 days in Costa Rica, what to do?
Are the best beaches in Caribbean coast ?
The best snorkeling and Scuba is around Drakes Bay on the Pacific side during the dry season.
Make a deal with gypsey cabs and pay up front. Or price at far end may be differnt.
ATMs give either dollars or calonas. Be careful of the blue eye tax.Expats say they don't mind. Small price to pay to a poor country.
press on, regardless!
Why spoil a good trip with reservations!! No reservations = freedom. Been to C.R. twice in Jan -Feb with only a first night reservation once in San Jose. Most of the other countries in C.A. too. Just remember that beaches close to San Jose can be busy with locals on weekends so plan accordingly.
Hi,
My 55-year-old mother-in-law is hoping to go to Costa Rica for a week in February but is unsure if she should sort out a tour guide before she goes or wait until she arrives - any thoughts or suggestions?
She is from England but will be travelling on her own from Florida and will be arriving in San Jose.
The Arinol Volcano and cloud forest are top of her wish list.
Many thanks in advance,
Andy
