I'm going to CR in Nov/Dec, does anyone have any experience with dive operators in CR? Best towns to base a dive at? Best dive sites? I would like to do Coco island, but it appears thats out of the question due to $$$ (all seem to be expensive live-a-board). Thanks for the help!

I won a holiday to here and these are the places that we are staying in...... www.costaricatreehouse.com and the hilton in San Jose. From San Jose were could i travel too nearby with nice beaches and that? im looking to do a volcano trip also. I am extending the holiday for 4 nights so from San Jose i would like to visit a coastal area, maybe an all inclusive resort as i have 2 small children.

I've probably put most people off with the title but anyone that's still reading : )

• Would love to visit CR and honeymoon looks like best opportunity.
• Ideally, would do ~10 days package plus 7 days extra to be decided over there.
• Plan is to go in around 20 December (getting married in October but am advised that Oct is not the best time to go to CR).
• Looking for mix of luxury (but not crazy!) and adventure. Would love to see a sloth and other wildlife.
• Will organise own flights…

I'm travelling to Costa Rica in June with my family. I have done some research, but am not quite sure where to start as it's all so overwhelming! We have done lots of travel before, and don't want to go anywhere too touristy. What are the best beaches for snorkeling and diving? Also, I heard that a lot of the water is choppy and unsafe to swim/snorkel in, is this true for most areas in CR?

Hello!

Next Friday, May 14th, I fly to Baltimore to Costa Rica. On july 19th, I fly back to Amsterdam from Mexico City. Thus, I travel to Mexico City over land. Is my ticket from Mexico City to Amsterdam enough evidence for the CR custom services and the Airline (Continental) regarding onward travel. Or is it better to purchase an additional bus ticket?

It finally happened; I had been waiting for years to go to Costa Rica. I was actually very nervous about this trip, but it went very well. I was there for 2 weeks in March 2010. I found the country clean, safe, not even 1 person pestered me with trying to sell something, and not 1 person begging for money. (Not that it is someone's fault if they are down-on-their-luck and needing to beg). I never got sick on the food or drinks, and I never perceived that there was any fear of this…

Hey everyone! Is there anyway to go to a coffee plantation for a day and pick/roast/grind your own coffee beans for a price? I've been looking in the LP and it doesn't really mention anything like it. I'd really like to give this a whirl, is possilbe! Thanks for any and all help!
