Hi Ozy!

Yes I was able to submit everything in. I did my Yellow Fever Vaccine & added in the documents. I had to go to a Fed Ex so the ppl could help me change the photo files to the correct pixels. That along took about 2-3 hours to figure out but we finally got it done. I sent everything in 2 days ago & reply was -SENT TO BORDER-. I received an alert from SME Alert that my application has been submitted. As soon as I pressed sent, I pressed a download option & saw an e-visa with my picture on it (Carta de Authorizacao de Vista Turismo) valid for 30 days. I saved it to my disc & printed it out. So I think I should be good. Will show them the e-visa & pay the $120 USD when I arrive in Luanda

Like I said earlier in this thread: earlier this year we flew from Toronto via Mexico and Peru (only 2 hours layover) to Santa Cruz. Nobody asked about yellow fever. I did a lot of research before we left and both the government of Canada and the CDC said that the government of Bolivia requires proof of yellow fever vaccination only if you are traveling from a country with risk of yellow fever.

The issue with getting travel vaccinations in the UK seems to be a regional thing.
Your profile says you live in London and you say your Doctor told you that they don't have typhoid, hep a or Cholera!
I live just outside London and have never come across anybody in my town that has had any problem getting those 3 jabs. Personally I've had those jabs done in my local surgery without even having to prebook them.

^Postcode lottery^ I believe!

Chelsea, I am in the same situation now. I thought I could get yellow fever vaccination in Agadir. I am heading south to Senegal on my bicycle. I had planned to get it in Dakar. I now see maybe Senegal as of February requires you to have certificate at border. Did you travel overland to Senegal? Did you get the yellow fever vaccination? Were you asked for proof at border? I appreciate if you could share your experience! Thanks and Happy Travels! Heather

Hi, so I just tried to get into Nicaragua and they stopped me because I didn't have the international yellow fever vaccination card. I have the vaccine, I just didn't have my card to prove it so I got turned back. Did your friends ever get to enter Nicaragua? Can you share a bit more about what the "right paperwork" was that they needed to get it?

Thank you very much. I have seen my nurse and I am booked in on Tuesday to go to Boots for a consultation.
I am surprised as my GP says they have no typhoid, hep a or cholera. Therefore I have found Boots seems to be the cheapest place to be vaccinated and the above plus Rabies and Japanese Encephalitus will cost me £512 which is astronomical!

I'd never taken any vaccines as I think in 90% it's scare mongering. I got jab (yellow fever) at Maputo airport earlier this year (local regulations). That was first time in my life, and I've travelled for forty years on all the continents.
I spent a month in Pakistan, sightseeing and trekking in Karakorum. I ate mostly at street restaurants, where food was fresh and tasty.
Normal parecautions are basic cleanliness, drinking bottled water, and using common sense. If you look around, people don't die like flies in those countries. They are humans like us who live their normal lives.

Indeed they are. I can see that @nutraxfornerves has mentioned forestry workers and other people working in the nature. They are in daily contact with bushes and dense vegetation, so they are a "natural prey" for this small vampire. Anyway, most of them are vaccinated although, as I have mentioned, TBE is not the only disease spread by ticks.

One more detail, just for those who would like to be informed about vaccine purchasing. It is enough to bring a prescription from your physician in form of private prescription. With this kind of prescription, you are free to buy a vaccine in all European countries regardless of the language in which the prescription is written, i.e. it is not necessary to translate it. After you have bought a vaccine, you need to find a local medical practice where they will apply the first dose. So, this second part also has its price that has to be added to the price of the vaccine. Don't worry, just follow the above described advice and you will be fine and free from this nuisance.

The travel.state.gov site states that Ethiopia requires a yellow fever card. Besides that, I'll be going to Kenya from there. Do you know any place in Egypt where I can get the vaccination?
