Just copied from the U.S. State Department website:

ENTRY/EXIT REQUIREMENTS FOR U.S. CITIZENS: You need a passport and visa to travel to Turkey. Passports should be valid for at least 90 days from the date of entry into Turkey and must have enough blank space to allow for Turkish entry and exit stamps. If there is not enough space for entry and exit stamps in your passport, you will be denied entry into Turkey.

Also no mention of the e-visa system--only that you buy a visa stamp upon entry…

Hey all,

so I’m planning a 6 week trip in Thailand and Cambodia, and will not be in Thailand more than 30 days per entry as per the visa exemption rules.

My problem exists when the possibility of being denied boarding for my Lufthansa flight because I don’t have a visa for the whole 6 weeks, even though I will be complying with Thai customs by not staying in the country more than 30 days per entry.

Does anyone have wisdom on this? My flight leaves in 2 weeks and the embassy says it’s a very…

I lived in Azerbaijan for a while (Canadian citizen) i have also been to Georgia several times. And Armenia. If you were planning to go to Naxchivan, i'd say you might have more concern. But the fact is, they simply don't reject you entry to Azerbaijan for having an Armenian visa.

Now, if you visit Nagorno-Karabakh, and have proof in your passport you have, you will be denied entry to Azerbaijan.

As long as you don't visit N-K, it is quite possible immigration will not care at all. There's a…

Hey!

I'm planning to be in Iran soon around that time too, but coming from Turkey through Iraqi Kurdistan and THEN onto Iran.

After all my research about border crossings, as well as meeting others who plan a similar trip or have done this before... I've heard a few times that coming FROM Iran TO Iraq there is chance you can get denied entry on the border.
I've heard of people who have made it that way also, but a surprisingly large amount of people who have been denied entry.

Just a heads up…

Bargain bites
>a list of 144 [San Francisco area] restaurants, delis and dives, including 42 newcomers, that will satisfy any and all cravings without breaking the bank....
>To qualify as a Bargain Bite, places should generally be open for lunch and dinner, with entrees around the $10 mark or less, the lower the better.
>But beyond being cheap, the food has to be good, and we’ll often stretch the budget for quality ingredients.

Looking at those restaurants should give you an idea of costs for less…

The US border officials do not often ask to see you return or onward ticket but the airlines do because they get fined if you are denied entry. The return or onward ticket has to be beyond North America, so any country south of Mexico, such as El Salvador will satisfy the requirements. The US government websites are very ambiguous in that they do not make clear that only time in Canada between the first entry to and the last departure from the US counts as part of you 90 day VWP entry. As…

I am invariably asked for either my visa or the ticket out at the check in gate. The reason is that if you are denied entry by Indonesia then the airline will have to take you back out.

When flying from Malaysia there is less risk of the check in staff demanding onward tickets as they have more intuition that its not that likely that someone like Westwood would be denied entry and sent back. If flying from outside SEA such as from Australia for example then there is big risk that check in…

"And for anyone reading this, you can be denied entry to a country if you have no onward ticket out of that country."

You can be denied entry to any country, other than where you hold papers for, for any reason, it is up to the border officials to decide. Having or not having an onward ticket, is only one criteria in their decision, except in those few countries that want an onward ticket bought in advance.

There are Jews living in Lebanon.

I am no expert on the subject, but it seems to me that just having a "very Jewish name" wouldn't be reason to deny entry. Even Lebanon (!) knows that Jews are not all - by definition - Israelis.

But what about this airline ticket showing you are flying from Tel Aviv? Is it on the same page/piece of paper as your ticket into Lebanon? If it is, it is that which will deny you entry, not your wife's name.
