From Ragusa...day trips are a bit tougher without a car,as public transport isn't great down there.

You've already been to Siracusa. The other more doable day trips are Noto,Modica.

Scicli is a bit more difficult for timing by public transport, but possible too...

Can anyone recommend Ayurveda or wellness retreats in Sri Lanka? Central region (e.g. Kandy), south coast or west coast. Suitable for solo female traveler with little to no yoga, pilates experience. Preferably easy to access via public transport and three-wheeler rather than a private car.

To respond to your comment "Still trying to see how we can go to Bijagos for only 2 or 3 days without having to pay a fortune to a private boat company" the only way to link with the Islands is using public ferry tranportation leaving Bissau everyfriday morning to Bubaque and returning every sunday morning or afternoon, depending on the tides. You can see the schedule at http://www.consulmarbissau.com/en/boat-timetable-bissau-bijagos-bubaque-bolama-enxude

Once there, you can visit the Bubaque island, which is perhaps enough for one full day (saturday). If you want to go elsewhere, like Orango Natural Park to see Hypos or Canhabaque to do some interesting trekking, you would need a private motot boat, which I would say you do not pay a fortune, but usually a fare rate taking into account maintenance and petrol costs for boats in that part of the world, where everythiing needs to be imported.

Good luck with your trip.

If I'm planning to go from Jerantut to Penang by public transport, I'd get to Temerloh first then change here for Penang.

Hello,

My girlfriend and I are considering a 9-day trip to Newfoundland this summer. We are hoping to use St. John's as a base and branch out from there. A few questions:

-We plan on using public transportation/taxis to get around. Is that reasonable?
-What places are must-visit, but also within reach of public transportation and taxis?

Thanks in advance,

nellstra
