If its the Sungai Kolok/ Rantau Panjang border, its easy to get to Kota Bahru by local bus. Passes by a few meters past the Malay Immigration building. Bus #29, costs MYR5. You can then arrange transport in Kota Bahru.
If you go to another border crossing, then you' ll need to look at other options.
We travel at least 5 times a year along the coast from Koh Samui to get the border. Never ever seen any problems when we travel by night bus. In fact, its no different now to what it was say 5 years ago.

Good day everybody!
I am planning a visit to Zakynthos 3 days + Kefalonia 5 days + 2 Ithaca and I would like to ask you suggestions on what not to miss and how to get aroung (car, scooter..), do and donts, ferries and beaches.
The idea is to relax a bit on some beaches, do some sightseeing and eat well.
The B&B and hotels are already reserved so the path is some how already decided:
day 1 Arrival Zakynthos
day 2 spend a day in Kalamaki or around the area with a scooter that would allow us to avoid the city touristic mass
day 3 go by car up to the very north Agios Nikolaos
day 4 Ag. Nikolaos (probably the usual boat trip to the shipwreck beach)
day 5 drop off car and depart for Kefalonia (ionianpelagos should have ferries to Pessada on Kefalonia) - see whats around Pessada (suggestions needed)
day 6 rent a car and see around
day 7 go up north to Argostoli (suggestions needed)
day 8 Argostoli (suggestions needed)
day 9 go by car up to Assos
day 10 Assos and see around (suggestions needed)
day 11** go by car** to Fiscardo
day 12 go by car to Sami to drop the car off and take the ferry (ionian pelagos should operate this leg too) to Vathy on Ithaca (rent a scooter - suggestions needed)
day 13 see Ithaca (suggestions needed)
day 14 travel from Ithaca back to Sami/Kefalonia (suggestions needed on how to go back to Argostoli) - night in Lassi
day 15 departure back home
Further to the questions and suggestions above requested:
Do you suggest a particular car and scooter rental company in Zakynthos, Kefalonia and Ithaca?
Are there particular restaurants for local food you suggest?
Do you think it makes sens to sleep in Lassi (closer to airport) rather than in Argostoli the night before the flight?
Do you know fo any bus/pubblic transportation from Argostoli/Kefalonia or Lassi to airport?
Do you know fo any bus/pubblic transportation from airport to Kalamaki/Zakynthos?
Thanks a lot!!

Hi all,
Our small family of two adults and one 3 year old and one 1 year old want to stay for three weeks in Asia next July.
According to what I read so far during this month only Indonesia part of Thailand and Malaysia seem to have nice weather ;)
We already visited Koh Samui/Koh Phangang two years ago when our older child was 1.
What we are searching for is a place - or two places not to far away - that combines nice beaches with activities we can do as a family. From our last trip we know that just beach is just not our kind of vacation and especially on Koh Phangang (while the beach and hotel were perfect) there was just not enough to do for us.
So the ideal place would be a nice beach but with sites and activities to visit in driving distance (not sure if self driving as possible/reasonable anywhere in Asia, but we would even prefer that). With activities I mean: small boat trips, shorter (Jungle) hikes, cultural sites (temples), ...)
What we definitely don’t want is crowded areas a big hotels ;). And I'm really allergic against trash lying around - i know it's Asia.. but still ;)
Last point is that good medical care should be available as we are traveling with small children and that the Malaria risk shouldn’t be high.
Soooo... where should we go to? ;))
Thanks a lot
Hey everybody Im Sammy,
Im currently at the very start of registering with AHPRA Im hoping to send my application over this coming Monday when I have my documents certified by a notary. I will not be in Australia until the end of January I will only be in Australia for a few weeks then to do a little bit of traveling with a friend. I plan to go to Sydney for around 3/4 days in total and then head to the barrier reef and drive or bus it back to Sydney for my flight home. I'm currently aiming for November 2018-January 2019 to move over for a while. Has anybody got any information on good place to look for Jobs and sponsors ect. I know its to early to apply for jobs at present but it would be good to get an idea of the type of nursing specialty I want to do. I have 5 years accident and emergency experience and currently I am a community IV nurse dealing with PICC lines and chemo disconnects and IV antibiotics and inserting lines at patients own home ect. I have a million questions about my next steps for example how do the ANZSCO codes work?
Im thinking I would like to do Sydney for at least a year. I will be going alone and will know nobody in the whole country so although its super exciting Its also a really scary time, all advice would be really greatly appreciated. Ideally I'd like to live in a central ish location when I get there.
thanks guys :)

Hello All Travelers!
Our family, 2 seniors and 2 adult children, are traveling to Thailand over the holidays. We have no flexibility in dates and hope to leave on 12/21/18 (in the afternoon) and return on 1/6/19 as long as we get in on the same day. 3 are traveling from LAX and one from JFK. My first question has to do with airline flight pricing. What would be a good fare to be looking for to fly out on those dates. Currently the flights are $900 and above with our return date still blocked out on some airlines. I don't want to wait too long as this is the high season, but I also don't want to buy too early if later deals are the norms.
Once we are in Thailand our rough plan is to spend 4 N Bangkok, 5 N Chiang Mai, 4 N Koh Samui, 1 N Bangkok Airport.
Same questions apply for when should I book the interior flights BKK to Chiang Mai, Chiang Mai to Koh Samui, and finally Koh Samui to BKK.
Lastly, I would like to visit Sukhothai and wonder if renting a car and driving from Bangkok to there and onto Chiang Mai makes sense. With a car it might make visiting a Doi Suthep area coffee plantation, the White Temple, and Patara Elephant Farm easier. Is driving in Thailand doable? We have driven in other countries but not sure with tropical weather, road conditions and the like if it would add or alleviate stress. Are we even able to drop off a car in Chiang Mai and fly the next part of our trip. And if yes driving is a good idea, what companies should we be looking at. Would we be able to find a private driver who would be willing to drive us to Chiang Mai from BKK with a stop over in Shkhothai as an option? Or should we just eliminate Sukhothai from our trip all together.
Thank you in advance for your thoughts and advice.

Thanks for your reply! Ive made a new flight plan now. Ill take a flight directly from Bangkok to Chiang Mai, so I wont visit this city until the end of the trip.
Bangkok - Chiang mai. 10 nights in this area
Chiang mai - siem reap. 12 nights in this country
Phnom Penh- Ko Samui. 9 nights in this area
Ko Samui-Bangkok. 5 nights
Does this sound like a decent route? Should I make any changes?
