It is rather an odd way to do business in that while all booking sites are in some ways parasitical none make it so very obvious.

I wish there was a like button , I couldn't put it better myself - 'all booking sites are parasitical'. I also remember someone at a basic bungalow operation on a small island in Malaysia saying - 'we no like online booking.... booking and then no come'

Hi there,

We are wanting to go to Turkey and ride motorbikes. Wondering if anyone can recommend a local motorbiking company (budget) that we could look into?

Thank you in advance.

Hi there,

My boyfriend and I will be visiting Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan this summer and we would like to do a 7-10 days horse trek in one of these countries. We are two experienced riders who did long treks in Mongolia and Kyrgyzstan. We do not want to go with a big group (more than 6 people). We do have a budget, and we are not looking for anything fancy. Please let me know if you have any recommendations for us. Thanks :)

Hello all,

I'm interesting in enjoying the beaches of the Similan islands and I am wondering if you would recommend staying overnight in a bungalow or doing a day trip. I've been hesitant on the day trips because I hear the beaches are swarming with tourists and if you stay overnight you can enjoy the beach more once the tourists leave. That being said, some of the reviews of the bungalows are very poor. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. The third option is a liveaboard, but the one I'm looking at cannot guarantee 100% that they will stop at the beach on island 4. It all is dependent on weather. Any help or tour provider recommendations would be great! Thank you in advance! :)

Hello, i
I am wanting to take a road trip to Arkansas for moderate hiking and exploring. Also on a moderate budget. What part of this state do you suggest? I also love nature.

Hello everybody this is my first time in Thailand and i'm doing solo, so i figured it all out on my own by reading and researching hundred times. I'm coming from Australia, but im from Peru so i'm very excited to see lots of history then head down to the islands. This is my itinerary:

2 days in Bangkok. 2 days in Ayutthaya. 2 days in Lopburi. 2 days in Phitsanoluk. 2 days in Chiang Mai. 2 days in Pai. 2 days in Mae Hong son. 1 day in Chiang Mai. 3 days in Koh Samui. 2 days in Koh Phangnan. 2 days in Koh Tao. 3 days in Khao Sok. 2 days in Krabi then i don't know, maybe to Phuket for 3 days and flight back to Bangkok.

I don't know if im gonna be alright in Krabi and Phuket, if they are too expensive so i just stay in the other islands for longer time.

Do you think doing half month in North and half month South is good, i think i can do this. I have booked all my hostels, in the North i will stay in bunk beds and for the South i have rooms for myself.

Im not on a budget but i don't have lots of money either. I have also bought all my air con vans tickets and some flights too. I am taking the minimum with me but smart too. I know in two days i cannot do much but im happy to do a thing in each city. Or am i crazy?

Is there anything anyone could recommend me, i will much appreciate.

Thanks.

Hello!

We are looking to travel in September this year and are thinking Koh Samui due to weather reasons.
We’ve travelled to Thailand a few times pre children and have always loved the Koh Phangan vibe. But want a bit of ease travelling to location.

We are looking for something on the quieter side but with lots for our 3 year old and also a kids club. We are coming up against really pricey accommodation and are struggling to find it to fit our budget. With the kids club requirement. Cheap as possible but without compromising on cleanliness and safety for our daughter.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Thank you so much!

Its not always that expensive to have drinks at a restaurant or guesthouse. You can also buy beers at a 7 11 or similar store and bring back to your room. You don't have to just eat street food its not that expensive to eat at simple restaurants.

Okay great then I'll do that, thanks for all the tipps!

You acclimatize faster without air con , fan rooms are enough. However some hostel dorms are air con and not expensive (not available everywhere). Once upon a time everyone on the islands stayed in wooden bungalows with no electricity.

Makes sense :D So I'll just try to get used to it and then it's probably gonna be good.

Buses from the bus stations are not that expensive. If taking any tourist buses do not leave any valuables in stowed luggage.

Yes found the prices on 12go.asia quite cheap, too.
Good to know with the valuables, gonna look out for that, thanks!

Yes you can but don't go to expensive places and travel in traditional budget traveller style. Its also not that expensive to travel in Malaysia and Sumatra in Indonesia and the weather would be okay for the time you are going. But to fit them in means a longer trip. You could also save more money and have a longer trip at another time.

I suppose with traditional backpacker stile you mean cheap hostels and so on?

About Malaysia and Sumatra:
I haven't really done any research on those countries yet, so I'm also gonna do that.
Do you mean that it would be cheaper to travel there during the trip and spend some part there or do you mean to just spend the whole trip in Malaysia and Indonisia?
Also flights seem to cost around 80-100€, so the question would also be, so do you think it's worth it to go there?

About the weather:
My research on wether and seasons is mainly based on the data on weatherspark.com.
Is that a site you would recommend or are there other (better) sources?

From what I've found there, August is pretty much off season in Thailand, does that make a big difference?

Also, the more south you go, the muggier and warmer it obviously gets, so is it better to stay more in the north of Thailand or go south?

Then on a third note, it looks like it'll be around 90 to 95% overcast and 60 % precipitation.
Do you think this is an issue or would recommend going to Thailand at a different time?

I will be in Santiago for ten days at the end of February and will be staying with friend. I am looking for local budget day trip tour operators to visit out of town interesting sites. Do guesthouse or hostel offer that service like everywhere in South East Asia. If so, Any recommandations? Thanks
