Hello there, I am surprised by what you mentioned, "There's plenty to do in and around Surat but public transport might be the problem.........."
Would you like to elaborate on what are the things I could do in Surat, it seems Surat is a sort of "one horse town", nothing much going on there, that was what I heard.
I am trying very hard to avoid staying a night in Hatyai because when I was there about 3 years ago I couldn't find a decent guesthouse and the place I stayed was real bad. However I…
I need to travel from Singapore to Koh Samui on the 27th December. I have heard of a few different routes but am not sure which is the best and most cost effective, flights are silly expensive and I don't mind travelling through the night but understand there are limited ferries to Koh Samui so don't want to get stuck in Surat Thani.
Has any one done this route, or have recommendations on the best way to do it?
Thanks :)
There are day trips to Ang Thong with snorkeling and/or kayaking on offer from Samui. Silver Beach is near lamai and easy to get to to.
As already mentioned, Koh Tao can be done in a day, if you just want to tick the box, leave on a 8am ferry and be back on Samui between 5 or 6pm.
The roads on Samui are dangerous, only rent a bike to get around if you really know how to handle one or re nt a car for the day, here are some suggestions of things to see (for free) around the island
We LOVE the beach so somewhere with gorgeous sand :)
I'd say Choeng Mon on Samui and Nai Harn on Phuket.
Hi,
Read ur own para 5 again, then decide against hiring a bike. Good advice given by other posters so i will not repeat. You urself give many good reasons not to do as you seem to wish. Stay alive, steer clear.
Chilled white for me, just opened, already welcoming in the weekend.
We've even got the Thai weather here in Europe, it's been 30+ for some weeks now - up to 38 in fact.
Got the sea-substitute in the form of lots of lakes around here.
Just need to get to the garden center to sort out the palm trees lol
