Hi,

I'm heading off to Thailand in Jan/Feb and finishing my time by in Ko Pha Ngan. I'm hoping to get from there across to Phuket and fly back to Australia from there.

I realise the ferry will get me back to the mainland (Kon Sak), and I'm hoping to catch a bus or some sort of transport across to Phuket, and then get across to Karon or Patong.

I'm a first time solo traveller and not sure how easy this will be. I've been told the road is very windy and may take 6-8 hours. Any suggestions or…

If I were u I'd forget both manic PP and over-priced Samui, and go to Lanta, Koh Yao Noi or Ao Nang instead.

My girlfriend and I will be in the islands Dec 26 thru Jan 3, so I am looking for any advice on where to spend New Years Eve. We want a party, but I am worried that the Full Moon Party will be a little too crazy. Should I be worried? Will Ko Samui have anything big going on?

Also, has anyone been to the Buffalo Fighting Festival on New Years Day in Ko Samui? Worth it?

Thank you.
Casey.

I think you will spend the night as the last ferry from Big Budda pier is at 18H30. You could try your luck though.

Does Koh Samui has a sabai/christine massage parlor, I cant recall the exact name of that massage but its known as Christine in Phuket. If yes then where is it and how are the girls there. Does Samui have only thai girls..or more options are available???

Hey Leigh (or anyone else) - can you tell me whether there is anywhere on Phi Phi that is not too busy/touristy, has decent bungalows (for ~ THB1,500-2,000) and has good snorkelling off the beach??

Thanks
GT

On Saamui I stopped in a great place called Wanna Samui, there were people with kids there. Nice pool, on the beach - bit of a walk to the sea though (1min), nice restaurant, very quiet. Its on the east side of the island below Lamai.
