Daniel, this ("The short answer to this question is "sometimes." Traditionally, most prescription drugs have been largely available over the counter in Thailand (illegally), but there have been periodic crackdowns. Go to a pharmacy first (they're everywhere, as I guess you know), try to get them there. If you're out of luck, try another. Finally, if you strike out twice, a doctor's appointment to get a script is surprisingly cheap, and the great majority of Thai doctors speak good English") is…

I don't recall the OP or either me or farty mentioning getting romantic with each other.

google CIA World Factbook Thailand and you will see the GDP per capita figure for Thailand is $9000.

The difference is due to Purchasing Power Parity. The CIA site also reports the $ GDP at about $198 Billion as against the State Depts fig of $206 Billion.

The CIA site figures are considered more authentic and are even quoted by United Nations and World Bank reports as a source when used.

Stag night party idea: Massage Parlour Bingo. The main problem is -again- the stupid partition so the girls can't follow the proceedings which would be half the fun.

Tampons...

Don't tampons cause the deadly Toxic Shock Syndrome? Panty shields seem so much healthier.

Dave thinks that 3000 dollars buys the same amount of goods in Thailand as it does in Switzerland - obviously, it doesn't, which is why serious comparisons between international economies use purchasing power parity to compare them.

That's where the 9k+ Thai GDP figure comes from and that is generally accepted by the vast majority of economists as being by far the most useful.

Hi

We have been travelling for about 10 months and are having a final 2 weeks ın Thailand.

Phuket for a few days and Krabı for the balance.

We do not have the LP guide for Thaıland, just can not carry any more LP guıdes wıth us.

Can anyone advıse a clean, comfortable and QUIET hostel somewhere ın both of these two places.

An emaıl address for the property would be great too.

We are both over 50 so do not want a party place.

Cheers and thanks in advance

LW
