3643 results for Ko Phi Phi

Hi,
i’ve friend who’s planning about 17 days in the Phuket, Krabi and Islands area in January 2019. He has a young son 5 y.o and his wife, Europeans. They have a good budget for resort accommodation.
They were thinking about Phuket and Phi but ages since i’ve been to either. I didn’t think Patong was suitable for a family, is that still the case? They could stay at Karon or Kata Beach is there much to do in the evening there? (without all the girly bars, obviously) What about Phi Phi? Last time I was there (10 years ago) it just seemed like Spring Break! Perhaps I missed the good bits?

Also, they like boats, can anyone recommend island cruises for a few nights to a week in the area?

thanks for any help

I'm in Japan, enjoying my last few hours of emergency-free life.

You should have done some research on the Thorntree! :-) I posted about my experiences of Route 23 a few years ago:

Pretty adventurous hiking area. I needed a lot of skills and some luck to not get lost there myself. Good you made it through in the end though!

When were you in Bengkulu? Is that where you ended your trip?

Hey there,
e are going to Vietnam from 15 april starting Hanoi going to Saigon. We have 4 weeks before we head to Malaysia for four weeks.

1.) Buying a motorcycle how to insure it best ?
2.) Is it easy to buy one in Hanoi or any recommends , like do it online or this website ?
3.) We plan driving through following cities:
Hanoi - Sapa - Cat ba island - Ninh binh - Hue - Hoi an - Nha trang - Ho chi minh

The distances between them are like 400 km. Is it possible to do these long stretches by train (with bike on it) ?
5.) Anyone ever did this or do we have to drive the whole stretch ?
6.) Last but not least, Is it easy to get something welded in Hanoi ? We have 1 bike , two people , 2 backpacks that need to fit on it for the trip :)

Thanks to anyone who can give me a good help here ! Hard to find the info.

Hi everyone!

I'm going to Thailand in march and am having trouble deciding where to go.
We have 20 days, and are already decided to go to: Bangkok, Rayley and Phi Phi.

But we still have a "free" week and need help to decide:
1) Should we go to Ko Lipe and Chiang Mai?
2) or should we seize this opportunity and fly to Bali (speding a day in Nusa Lembongan)?

I would love to hear from all whom already travelled to this places.
We love beautiful beaches and are excited to meet different cultures.

Thanks for the input!

You can readily travel by bus to those towns. You can get to Pai by mini buses from Arcade bus station in Chiang Mai. Pai is popular but some may find it over commercialized. You can find hotel and resort accommodation but there are also many simple guesthouses. Scenery is pleasant in Pai but there is better scenery 40 kms away at Soppong (Pang Mapha) and Tham Lod (name of village as well as name of the cave there).

If you haven't already done so worth to check out guidebook. Mid november is a short monsoon time on Samui side All these places are developed , built up and somewhat expensive - particularly Railay Beach, Krabi - are you okay with that ? Some find Phi Phi island too spoiled.
You also need to give details on style of accommodation and budget.

lol big boi beach shorts? Obviously its easy to say that once there but problem is if im booking accommodation in advance then I need to make decisions before I go as ive not been its hard to say hence seeing what others who have been think?

One could stay in Phuket and phi phi for 10-15 days and see different islands/beaches every/most days? Looking online it seems so.

But is it really worth taking extra time to travel to Ao Nang and base there few days. I guess Railay is the appeal. having obviously not been there Im asking is it gonna offer much more than anything id already seen?

Thanks.
