Hi All,
My partner and I are planning a trip along the west coast from for 5 weeks in July/August. We will be hiring a car in Seattle and traveling down to LA. Our current plan is:
- Seattle
- The Cascades
- Portland
- Crater Lake
- Redwood National Park
- Lake Tahoe
- Sacramento
- San Francisco
- Yosemite, Death Valley, Las Vegas
- Monterey/Big Sur
- Los Angeles - Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Malibu, Santa Monica and Venice Beach
- Joshua Tree National Park
We are hoping to stay in hostels/motels along the way to make it cheaper. Is it necessary to book accommodation in advance or will there be availability along the way?
Would really appreciate some advice on how much time to roughly spend in each place.
Thanks in advance!

Could you suggest a 3-4 wk itinerary for my 70-year-old mum, 2 children and me in Mexico in March/April, please? We will be arriving at Puerto Vallarta and have not booked the return flight yet. I have been to Yucatan and Chiapas twice before but would not mind visiting Oaxaca again. Cheers!

Hello everyone,
I am planning to travel with a friend to Greenland for about two weeks this August. We will be flying out of Western Europe and we are looking to do a combination of hiking and kayaking.
We have been researching for a couple of days about Greenland but the information is scarce even on the Internet and travel guides such as the 2005 lonely planet reach crazy prices up to EUR 300 on amazon...
We are wondering on which areas you would recommend to focus and whether you would recommend to take a tour (or maybe two short tours in two different spots?). Well, basically, any advice is welcome!
Many thanks!
Victor

Hi Travelers, I'm scheduled to arrive in the Philippines in 5 days and am currently planning to travel around the country for about a month. Given the recent uptick in covid19 cases in the country, I'm wondering if the country still feels open to travelers. On one hand I can imagine tourists who are willing to go being well received as the industry doesn't want to lose all business this year. On the other hand I can imagine potential crackdowns on movement and closure of popular areas that would make being a tourist in the upcoming months difficult.
Does anyone who is currently there have a gut feel how this is more likely to go? I'm still really hoping to do my trip, but would love to get a reality check from those currenty in the Philippines. Thanks!
Hi - I'm flying into Ecuador for the first time - Guayaquil late Wednesday, giving myself two days in town, then I'd like to figure out an itinerary for the next two weeks before I need to be in Quito.
I was thinking from Guayaquil I could visit Puerto Lopez and the poor man's Galapagos and I've been told it's "lovely" but perhaps not a "must do" - would I regret missing out on Ecuador's coast, is it very special? I definitely I want to go to Cuenca and spend some time there (need to do some work online, so not just sightseeing). If I go to the coast from Guayaquil, I'll have to backtrack thru Guayaquil to catch a bus to Cuenca, right? So if that would be a pain, that might be another reason to skip the coast (until after Quito, if I end up staying longer).
For the Cuenca to Quito segment, is the easiest stop just Baños? Looks like people are fans of Baños, but I want to make sure it's not super touristic? I mostly like hiking, scenery and wildlife - thermal baths sound great too, but I'm not sure I'd do any of the adventure stuff.
I'll have some time while in Quito to do some day trips but not overnight, so I'd prefer not to overload the travel between Cuenca and Quito with multiple long bus journeys.
I'm a solo female traveler, so safe hiking routes are a priority, though I don't mind hiking alone.
Any input appreciated!

Is it practical to walk from JNB Passenger Terminal to Rhodesfield Gautrain station? Is the road dangerous (busy traffic / mugging)?
I am curious…if there are no other cheaper public transportation (buses) to/from the JNB airport and Johannesburg city center, how do the airport staff get to work (I do not think every airport workers would have their own vehicles or use the taxi or the expensive Gautrain daily)?
