1317 results for solo female in thailand

Hi, I wonder if any of you could give me some advice. I am planning to visit Mynamar in October but I'm a bit worried about the visa. My job title is head of research, I do political and legal research on EU affairs. I have got the feeling I shouldn't mention the words EU, political or legal in my visa application. But on the other hand, researcher might be too vague. What should I do? What would you put? Should I apply to Evisa or on the Embassy? I really don't want my application to be denied. Any tips and advice would be greatly appreciated.
I am planning to stay there the 28 days, any tips for a female solo traveller would be appreciated too.
Thank you.

Hello Lucapal!
Always nice to hear from you :)
I'm not sure whether I should join a tour or do it on my own on this trip being a solo female traveler. Am keen to check out the landscapes, culture and FOOD!

What do you recommend? Have you been to Sri Lanka?

I need another person or persons in order to sign up for macsadventure self guided inn to inn itinerary from September 20-27, 2019 as the company will not let me sign up as a solo traveler.

I am a hiker (not a mountain climber)female, 60+ with experience hiking in Europe (most recently Albania), China, India Himalayas, South Africa, the US and Canada and more. I have all day stamina but am slower walking uphill which is one of the reasons why I prefer to hike alone. I would take a single room on this trip as would you - unless you are more than one person. Please leave me a message and I will be in touch. Thank you.

Interesting to read a real report and not the usual prejudice without ground experience.

I was in Pushkar last month. I spoke with one female solo traveler from Spain. She was quite distressed about an encounter at her guesthouse. The manager was showing her a lot of attention. They shared beers and smoked together in the guesthouse's roof top restaurant. That night the manager was banging on her door after midnight. She didn't answer it but was very scared. The next day she confronted him and he became very hostile. She left the guesthouse that morning.

The following day she checked into a different guesthouse. There, the manager invited many of his male friends to the hotel for a party. She avoided their attention but later they called her multiple times throughout the night asking her to come party with them. She never gave them her phone number and suspects they received it from the guesthouse register.

**The OP asked about safety. Safety remains a concern for solo female travelers in India. Cities like Pushkar, Rishikesh, and Varanasi are unique, because there are so many tourists. Some men travel there and stay in guest houses with the intention of meeting foreign women. I've never met a female in India who hasn't experienced unwanted attention. Being aware of the situation is the best way to deal with this attention appropriately.

Hi,

I am planning on coming to Morocco from May 15th until either the 23rd or 24th of May. I know this will be tight, but ideally I'd like to do the trek to the top of Mt.Toubkal as well as visit the desert.

Is there a possible way to do both these things in this time? I've read Toubkal can be done in about 3 days from Morocco. Does anyone have suggestions for reliable budget guide?(I'm a student, don't need anything luxury at all).I'm having a hard time finding a guide company that offers both. I was thinking maybe I could trek Toubkal without a guide, but that maybe isn't wise as I'm a solo female traveler. On that note, if anyone would like to join this trip, let me know!

I've also heard this will be during Ramadan so that may present some problems for things being open I've heard?
Another option is I could go May 28- June 9 but I'd prefer earlier in May because of the heat and it works better with my travel plans.

Thanks so much!

I would like to travel using trains and buses from the Black Sea to the Adriatic over about 3 weeks in September. I enjoy the travel more than resorts and prefer to see rural areas and unusual historical sites. At the moment I am completely open - except I don't need to go to Budapest and I would like to see Slovenia and maybe finish in Croatia. I might work south and then westwards after Bucharest and getting to Black Sea coast and could use the Balkan Flexi pass with 7 days of rail travel. I am a female 68 yr old well used to travelling solo. Any suggestions of what not to miss? Or is it far too much to attempt?

I've tentatively planned a trip in Iraqi Kurdistan in early September this year. This was a spur of the moment decision after finding a work-related conference to go to. Of course, I did some research about the safety of visiting this area and felt that I would be okay there. Initially I was incredibly excited to go, but given recent political manoeuverings by the US and Iran I was wondering if now (or the next few months) would still be relatively safe to visit (I am aware of the blanket travel advisories for the country). I'd love to hear any feedback from those who have been there recently, or know the area well. In addition, any useful web or news sites to check in to about this would be much appreciated.

FWIW, I have a guide booked for the 6 days I will be there. He comes with good reviews and as a solo female traveller to the region, I feel more comfortably doing it this way than on my own.
