No actual dress code (except as stated above) but you will probably feel better as a solo female if you dress more conservatively than you normally would. And if you get there and find that you feel uncomfortable you can always buy something more suitable.
Hi,
I am Trinidadian living here.
Not sure why you chose Blanchisseuse, but I wont recommend it for solo female, nor Hindu culture. I would recommend being in a less remote place. Although Hindus are scattered all over the island, generally you will find a higher concentration in the central and southern parts of the island.
If you have specific questions please feel free to ask. I will be happy to answer.

Hello everyone,
Im planning to travel from Kathmandu Nepal to Darjeeling then Sikkim in India. I'm solo female traveller so I have some questions, pls help me:
1. I dont know exact where i can get the ticket in Kathmandu? Which bus station? Any recommendation about name of the bus, price, or link of ticket online...pls write me
2. I want to take a daytime-bus, so i know that i must stay over night in somewhere nearby the border from Nepal side. Do you know what is the name of the border? Which province? where should i stay from Nepal side (name of place, name of hotel...anything)
3. After crossing the border, is it easy to get another bus and how long left?
Thanks you so much and have a good day
Hi there! Im 20 years old and I'll be travelling as a solo female traveller this summer. I was wondering any tips people would have for me? Places I must go, things I must see. Also if somebody could ease my nerves about travelling by myself. I'll be going to Guatemala, Nicaragua and Costa Rica. I took a gap year and travelled Europe by myself for an entire year (backpacking, hostel working, aupairing, hitchhiking, all of it) so I feel comfortable travelling its just safety wise where i'm getting a bit nervous.

Thank you so much for your update. What time did you request the ride? Uber is estimating about $150 USD from the SP airport to Paraty. Good to know that it could be $80 instead.
I'm a solo female traveler and not sure if it's super safe for me to request this ride especially if driving late at night. I didn't even consider uber, this is so great.
I've never met a female in India who hasn't experienced unwanted attention. Being aware of the situation is the best way to deal with this attention appropriately.
I have also met many solo women travellers who travelled all over India and never mentioned these things.
There is no contradiction, both can be correct .. as there are also those who actively seek attention (notably in Rajasthan).

First time in Peru, and although I would love to see Machu Picchu and cuzco, the idea of swarms of tourists has led to plan to venture up north. I enjoys ruins, nature, culture. I only have 11 days and was thinking Lima to trujillo by plane, over to the chachapoyas area for about 4 days and then fly back to Lima. I believe I need to fly out of tarapoto. I do not want to rush and want to take things slow. Does this sound doable in 11 days. Not interested in any strenuous hiking. Will I have any issues finding day tours. Solo female traveler and know enough Spanish to get around. Any ideas or suggestions are appreciated.
Been collecting a list of interesting places in the region, but haven't put up an itinerary yet.

Most likely I will be travel by myself, that's a bit of safety concern for a female solo traveler and first time in India...

plus the news about the nation-wide demonstrations is quite worrying. Has anyone have any experiences in this part of India and any updates about the demonstrations there?
You can easily keep up with domestic news coverage. For example:
