2640 results for Ko Phangan budget bungalows

I will be flying into DWC on the 3rd week of April, as it's the cheapest airport to fly into, but my idea is actually visit some of the countries in the Peninsula, including Oman.

Does anyone have tips about taking a bus from Dubai to Muscat, is it pretty normal to buy tickets one day before when I'm already in Dubai or is there a risk of buses selling out? Or is there anything similar to blablacar in the region?

But most importantly, after spending 2 days in Muscat, I'll want to rent a 2wd car for 48 hs and I wonder where I can reach without a 4x4 car. I am planning to do the circuit to Nizwa, then to Sur and back to take my flight out of Oman (or bus, I haven't decided yet, as Salam Air cancelled a flight I had bought for the 27APR).

I am not planning to take a guided tour, as they're way more expensive than my budget (travelling in the Arabian Peninsula is not cheap, as you're almost forced to rent cars everywhere, unfortunately)

Thanks for all opinions

Its impossible for us to know why you are doing something,if you don't say it ;-)

Anyway,if the itinerary is fixed,unchangeable..then either Addo (small budget)or Shamwari (large budget).

If you don't want to drive, and you have the money...Shamwari.

Hi guys,

I posted an itinerary a few weeks ago and got many answers telling me it was too much LOL So here is another one. Hopefully better! I had to make big choices and letting go of many places I wanted to visit. We will be travelling with my 9 years old twins and renting a car. I really want to go to Cahuita/Puerto Viejo, so that makes it harder. For the rest I'd like a bit of everything (wild life, volcanoes and of course beach) and avoid driving too long.

I am not that sure about Monteverde since everything there seems so expensive and I am on a budget (I don't really want to do zipline or things like that). Keen on replaicng some of these by more "off the beaten track" destinations. Last, we'll be there end of July/beginning of August.

Day 1: Arrival in the morning. But our flight has a connection in the middle of the night in Mexico. So we will be tired. I would love to leave Alajuela but ideally we would not drive more then 45 min. Suggestions that do not extend our trip the next day to Samara?
Day 2: Travelling to Samara
Day 3: Samara
Day 4: Samara
Day 5: Samara
Day 6: Travelling to Monteverde
Day 7: Monteverde
Day 8: Monteverde
Day 9: Travelling to La Fortuna
Day 10: La Fortuna
Day 11 : La Fortuna
Day 12: Travelling to Puerto Viejo de Sarapiqui
Day 13: Puerto Viejo de Sarapiqui
Day 14: Travelling to Tortuguero
Day 15: Tortugero
Day 16: Travelling to Cahuita
Day 17: Cahuita/Puerto Viejo
Day 18: Cahuita/Puerto Viejo
Day 19: Cahuita/Puerto Viejo
Day 20: Travelling to Alajuela
Day 21: Flight back

Thank you in advance!

Bonito does need a healthy budget. I didn't like Bonito but I was on a backpacker budget and it just wasn't viable to do a lot of the activities (the costs add up immensely).

Buzios/AdC I find is crowded in the summer months. But so is anywhere with a beach in the summer months in Brasil. When are you going OP?

I agree with Rokatoo. Salvador isn't a place to go to the 'beach'. Its great for a culture. If beach time is what you want head south from there and the coast has some great treasures to find.

Again, really depends what you are after. Also with 30 days and already confirmed/booked 5 locations. I would maybe only add 1-2 more places if that.

Hi, I am spending 7 days in Serbia in December - I realise it will be cold but we are planning to visit as follows:
Day 1: arrive Belgrade airport and go directly to Novi Sad for two nights
Day 2 Novi Sad
Day 3: Bus to Subotica for 2 nights
Day 4 Subotica - art nouveau tour etc
Day 5; Return to Belgrade for 3 nights

Any feedback on whether this is a good plan would be appreciated. I am hoping that there will be Christmas markets in Novi Sad as well as in Belgrade.

Any recommendations for places to eat/stay would be good too. We are mid range budget people and like looking at interesting things and eating interesting food.

Thanks Janey

Well it's hard to say, because we don't know what effect Brexit will have on the British £. So far the signs are not hopeful for the British.

Finding cheap but acceptably comfortable lodgings and traveling by bus or train, for Cambodia, Laos or Thailand, plus seeing tourist sites, I'd guess minimum $30 per day or £25 at current exchange rates. And spending more than that if you want to use lots of taxis instead of walking. You might possibly do parts of Vietnam cheaper, because cheaper lodgings there. But you need to increase that budget for places like Angkor Wat in Cambodia, or a Halong Bay islands tour in Vietnam.

But regardless it's hard to see how the £5000 budget would not do the job.

Thanks for this, much appreciated

Hello everyone! I am thinking of documenting my travels by creating a travel website. Unfortunately, I don't have a big budget to hire a website developer or a website designer nor do I have the expertise to code a website on my own so I have to resort to using a website builder for that since it's the most affordable one.

What do you think of website builders? Are they good?
Should create a free website or purchase a domain name for my travel website?

I don't know Borneo but I think you will just do it for Sumatera. Say $10 for a room and food and then local transport; then long distance transport (like flights to Bali etc) and an occasional beer.

You have gone from "we" to "I" -- have you changed the number of people or budget. Rooms are assume to be shared; transport, food and beers are not. Budget was for 2 people.

Day 1 - Cairo - Focus on Islamic/Old Cairo and Coptic Cairo. Use Carem or Uber. It is quite cheap--particularly if you travel against the traffic--and you mitigate have to "negotiate"--it's Egypt.

Day 2 - Giza/Pyramids, then overnight train to Aswan. Expensive but you maximize your time. Check Air Arabia for potential cheap fare. Must book your train ticket in advance, particularly if you want first-class.

Day 3-4 - Aswan/ Abu Simel. Aswan was a disappointment for me. More expensive than Luxor and Cairo, and you need transport to reach tourist sites. Aswan to Abu Simbel is at least 3 hours by car. Public transport is limited, unreliable, and they may not allow foreign tourists to ride public buses. Most go there as day trip from Aswan. You get up at 3:30AM, take ferry from Elephant Island (most tourists stay on this island) to mainland to catch van around 4-5AM to Aswan. Get to Abu Simbel around 7-8AM, where you have 45-60 mins to see the magnificent site before heading back to Aswan by 12-13 hour. If you choose this option, you can catch evening train to Luxor.

Day 5-6 - Luxor/ Valley of the Kings. Bob Marley and Happy Land Luxor are 2 best budget accommodations in Luxor. Bob Marley is co-owned by an Aussie, its patrons are more social. But the young man who manage the place can be abrasive and cordial in seconds. Sofra is the place to eat. Cover Karnak first since Luxor Temple is open until 20 hour.

Luxor's West side have too many sites to cover in 1-2 days, so you need to prioritize what you want to see. For me, Habu and Ramesseum worth the money and time. Very few people visit the latter. Valley of the Kings is the farthest point so go there first thing in the morning if you do plan to visit that place. Research and identify the tombs you want to see in advance. If you're into Egyptology, consider splurging on one of its surcharged tombs.
