Is any body else having problems booking tickets on Thai Smile website from the US?
For several days I have tried to book 2 tickets on Thai Smile from Bangkok to Chiang Mai and after entering all details including credit card information, I get an error saying "unauthenticated credit card password not validated". I have also contacted Thai Smile via email and after 2 days get a reply asking me for my phone number, when I have already included my phone number while sending them the email. Its frustrating dealing with Thai websites!
If someone has a solution please advise, other than calling their Thailand office. FYI, I have used the same card to book my Chiang Mai hotel without any problem.

Any feedback or advice would be greatly appreciated. If you think I should stay longer or shorter in a certain place please tell me. Also If I've missed out on a really popular or beautiful place please let me know.

Hi! My first post in the forum (do not be angry if I do it wrong).
I'll start my backpacker trip in December. I will be traveling from Bangkok to Chiang Mai in early January. I wonder which way that is easiest to reach Yagon from Chiang Mai. I would like to take a bus or train. Actually I wonder most of all how to get from Chiang Mai to Muyanmar. Is essentially the same where I visit in Muyanmar (would like to tip but thought yagon was easiest), as long as I get to see the country and culture. I have to book a plane from Muyanmar to India before I travel.
From there, plenty of of possibilities.
For temples and historic monuments, consider either Sukothai or Ayuttaya.
For "jungle" and hiking and beautiful landscapes, have a look at Kanchanaburi. You could also see a tiger in one of the nearby wats, but personally I would very very much reconsider. Tigers are wild animals and totally not meant to be drugged and to be walked around on a leash.
Spend a few days on a beach on the Andaman Sea, to enjoy beautiful beaches and to party. I am not at all a party person, so not the right person to give advice.
Fly to Bangkok. Great for shopping, for food, for temples, for markets, for bars etc. Its an amazing city, and it offers so much and I absolutely love it. But it can also be a bit overwhelming, thats why I would keep it for the end of your trip and rather start in Chiang Mai, which is much less overwhelming.
Driving is a cinch if you are careful.. suggest "advanced driving" and always let the Thai's do what they want. My youtube channel has loads of videos and advice about this.
Dont drive after dark.
I've done ,000's of km in Thailand, never had a problem.
You have some good places on the list, 8,9, 10 are touristy and 11 is too western for me, personally. 11 / 12 very beautiful.
Although 8 there's a teddy bear museum and fish market!
I can personally recommend 3. Bridge over river kwai, train trip (allow all day for that - 4hours one way), museums, etc and the town is very nice. See my youtube for vlog recommending accommodation there.
4 has some great temples and architecture.
If you're up north, there's also Nong Kai, Khon Kaen (dinosaurs and stuff)

Hi everyone.
We are a family with 2 adults and one 7yo child. We plan to travel in Thailand for one month starting Feb 15.
We like countryside and don't like city with crowds. Places we want to go are listed below. It would be great if you can advise on the itinerary and transport. We like driving but not sure if it's fine to travel around in Thailand by car? Or train / bus is better? Or a mix of rental car & train? Also, any beach / islands that are beautiful and worth for visit? Your valuable advice is highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
1)Bangkok
2)Khlong Mahasawat
3) Kanchanaburi
4) Ayutthaya
5) Khao Yai National Park
6) Ubon Ratchathoni
7) Amphawa
8)Pattaya
9)Hua Hin
10)Koh Samui
Also North Thailand
11) Ching Mai
12) Ching Rai
Hua Hin is a seaside town rather than a beach destination. The beaches there are nothing to write home about.
However being a town plenty to do, plus there are plenty of resorts with pools available, and the sea is shallow, no corals, so pretty good for a little one.
Think more of resort holiday here.
Koh Lanta is not really my cup of tea. There are some good but rather isolated spots down south, quite ok, but the main beach just doesn't click for me.
Others will have different opinions, of course.
Khao Lak, like it, good mix of quiet and yet restos and stuff, decent beaches, all kind of resorts. Certainly a possibility.
Koh Kood, pretty beaches, good for the kid, and yes, beachfront accommodation is on the expensive side there, but then no probs, you can afford it. However rather quiet, and not a place to get around easily.
Koh Chang might be another option, lots of options there, some good beaches, easier to get around, more to do.
Trang islands (google it) offers even more options, but those are small and certainly on the quiet end, less to do, plus some beaches maybe not ideal for little one (more corals in the shallow).
Take a look at images online, look around a bit, prices, resorts, pick something you like, post it here, and maybe we can make more detailed recommendations.
As above, I would fly straight to Chiang Mai (via Bangkok) and start your honeymoon there. Ziplining, hiking, Thai Cooking class, elephant experience - all that and more you can find in Chiang Mai. Also beautiful temples and great markets / night markets (especially the sunday walking street).
Then fly down south to one island destination. Which side you choose depends of the time of the year you will be travelling. The westcoast (Krabi / Phuket / Koh Phi Phi / Koh Lanta etc.) from November to March, the eastcoast (Koh Tao / Koh Samui / Koh Phangan) from May to October. Personally I dont like Koh Phi Phi - yes, it is beautiful but it is also very small and gets extremely crowded, especially during the day with so many day visitors overcrowding the small island.
