Hi there!
My fiancé and I are in the midst of planning our honeymoon to Thailand in May of 2018, and I am super excited to get the opportunity to visit a place so beautiful! We will be spending about 14 days there (staying the majority of the time near or around Phuket), and while I know that that is not nearly enough time, I want to try and squeeze in as much as possible. I definitely want to make sure we get to Maya Bay and the Phi Phi Islands, scuba dive in Krabi, kayak inside limestone caves, see monkeys and elephants, ride the Death Railway, see the waterfalls in Erawan National Park, and hot-air ballon in Chaing Mai. I can pretty much research online and put most of these trips/excursions together myself, however, I am looking for advice on a few things:
1. Are there any recommendations for hot-air balloon rides besides in Chaing Mai?
2. Are there any places in or around Phuket that will allow us to rent our own boat for the day (long tail or speedboat)?
3. I know it is frowned upon to ride on top of the elephants, and I'm not looking to do that. I have heard that you can actually rent one for the day (take care of it, give it a bath, walk it around, ect.) Besides the elephant sanctuaries that I have found online in northern Thailand, does anyone know of such a place in southern Thailand to do this as well (Krabi, Phang Nga, Phuket)?
4. Does one more familiar with Thailand than me, think it IS possible to do all of the things on our wish list within our two week time frame ( visit Phuket, Krabi, Phi Phi and Chaing Mai)?
Any recommendations or advice would be most helpful and appreciated!
Thank you in advance!
