Hi all,
I plan to cross the Myanmar border either at Zokhawtar or Moreh Indian check points and will then need to head to Guwahati in Assam region to ask for an Arunachal Pradesh permit.
I can't find information on how to go directly from these border cities to Guwahati.
Would someone know if there are somehow rather direct trains or buses to do the trip?

Well, I don't know. Kerala is the place where the Communist party has had the most success. I've seen parades with the red communist flags in Munnar. So maybe south India over Kolkata these days, for the leftism. But outside of tech cities like Bangalore, south India is still socially conservative.

I have 'done' 17 trips to India, totaling more than 70 months, and never bothered to hide or mask the obvious fact that I am a foreigner. I have of course worn long pants and/or a hat in temples where that has been required. Other than that I have dressed for the weather/temperature. I very much like India and the Indians and of course behave with respect to the people.
I have never felt anything other than respect coming back to me.
I also think it is quite ridiculous to dress in local garb in an attempt to placate the locals, As much as it would look like bad joke if say a Chinese tourist would appear in my native Sweden dressed in folk costume. Nor is it a good idea for tourists to wear a sombrero in Mexico.

Hi, we have applied for our 30 day e-visa to India today 17th Sep and are actually travelling in India from 15th Oct to 1st Nov, really confused now as to whether they are valid from date of recieving the visa or on arrival in India, hopefully the latter or our visas will run out before we leave, such contradictory advice, very worrying, does anyone know for sure what are the current state of affairs, thanks to anyone who can help x
