I will be travelling to Thailand this month. I will head to Bangkok on 21st July, on the same day I will be heading to Krabi, I will spend a night and will head to Koh Samui on the next day. Will be there in Koh Samui till 24th July. Then I will be heading back to Bangkok. Will stay till 26th. Any traveler, group or any person who can recommend are welcome.

Hi everybody, I will go to Samui from Bangkok.
Excluding the night bus (I am getting old) and Bangkok airways (too expensive); I have to choose between Nokair and AirAsia combined fly'n'ferry.
The first will arrive at Nar Ton pier, while AirAsia at Lipa Noi pier.
I read taxi in Samui are expensive (till 800thb from ports to chaweng or lamai) so I wonna ask if you experienced one of these if there are public or join organized transport from the ports.

Planning a trip to SE Asia this summer. Will only have twelve days, not including travel days to/from home. Have been to Vietnam/Cambodia recently so focusing on Thailand/Laos this time around. Am starting to form a rough itinerary in my mind, know what I would like to start and end the trip with, but the middle part is a bit hazy:

Know your stones and know your silver. Thai's are amazing at making beautiful, genuine copies!
There is a lot of real stuff out there too, but often it can be hard to tell. I don't know about ko samui, but I'd be surprised if there wasn't someone who could do it for you. I know a great person that I would definately recommend (he is a good friend and I import his jewelery for sale in Canada) but he is in Ko Lipe. Hi I am arriving Bangkok on 28th July and planning to stay near khao san road.
Will be taking a flight to koh samui on 30th morning and would stay there for 5-6 days , do some island hopping , attend half moon party.
Might also visit Phuket on 5 th & 6th august.

I HAVE ALREADY BOOKED MY FLIGHTS ETC AND THE ACCOMODATION. BUT I HAVE PAID THE DEPOSIT ON A VILLA IN KOH SAMUI, THAILAND TO HAVE IT FROM 1ST OCTOBER UNTIL 1ST APRIL (6 MONTHS). IT IS REALLY NICE (IVE BEEN THERE BEFORE), IT HAS A SWIMMING POOL, IS RIGHT NEXT TO THE BEACH AND IS IN A RELATIVELY QUIET AND SAFE AREA NOT FAR FROM NATHON. Look, I can't really comment on your questions - dont come to the islands from Bangkok, last stayed in Bangkok in 97, try to stay in places under 350 baht (check my Phangan thingy in the second link below for White Wind on lovely Thong Nai Pan Yai).
Personally, I would cut a bit of time out from Samui to fit in Ko Tao to the north of Phangan.
But if you are a midrange traveller who likes western style hotels, bars and beaches with deckchairs and umbies, extended Samui time is fine. It certainly is…

My husband and I went travelling about 17 years ago and spent several weeks in Thailand and totally fell in love the place. We have always wanted to go back and think the kids are now of an age where they will get some great memories and adventures out of it.
Our current thinking is that we will have 2 days/3 nights in Bangkok, 7/8 days on an island and then 2/3 days on an adventure trek from Kanchanaburi. The order depends on where we go for each bit.
