Thanks everyone. I think LP need to edit their Ko Samui book...
Ko Samet is close.
Best weather will most likely be in southern Gulf (Ko Samui, Ko Pha Ngan, Ko Tao) - almost as quick to get to Samui by plane as it is to go to Samet by bus.
Hi,
I had couple of questions
Is August good time to visit Thailand?
If We go to Phuket than how far is ko somui and krabi? Can we reach by road or train and how much time will it take?
Which is a cheap airline to take within Thailand cities?
Thanks in advance for cooperation!
Regards,
Rajul
Phuket is touristic , but so is Krabi and Ko Phi Phi and so is Ko Samui and so is Ko Phangan - Ko Samui turning into another Phuket and Ko Phangan turning into another Ko Samui. In the north the town of Pai in Mae Hong Song province is very touristy.
Kho Tao and Koh Samui are on the East coast no tsunami there.
Head to Ko Samui, if you're injured on KP, is good advice!
Avoid hospitals on KP!
The one on Ko Samui is much better.
best for me: ko samui
see some tips in this blog

Or maybe should I fly to ko Samui from Phuket on 12/30? And do those islands near ko samui instead?
