Hi All !

I will be visiting Europe for the first time in my life in June 2018 ! Prague , Berlin , Amsterdam , Antwerp and Belgium .
I am from Mumbai , India which has a tropic climate . I have done some reading and it says that weather varies day to day in Europe. I am unsure of what weather to expect in these cities and hence what i must carry in terms of clothing etc so I can enjoy my stay there .
Also any tips on how I can easily acclimatize to the temperature there would be very helpful ! I would be coming from about 30 - 32 deg Celsius

PS : I am new to this forum and not too sure if it't the correct to ask this question .

If your company is based in London then not sure you need all what you are looking for. I worked for a UK company for 6 months based in Amsterdam, and opened a bank account with my passport and driving licence. I don't understand why you would have to commute to Amsterdam, if your company is based in London, unless you are opening an office in Amsterdam then you are talking completely different things you will need. As above for anything official contact the Dutch embassy in the London.

Hi guys!
I'm going to Amsterdam this fall by myself and I was wondering if there's a young solo traveler who might be interested in hanging out! This will be my first time in the city and I'll definitely enjoy the company of someone enthusiastic about food, beer, music and cycling around.

Dear travellers,

I am currently in between jobs and as a result have about 4-5 weeks to travel SEA in August (first preference was camper travel in Australia but have to pass that since its winter there!). While travelling through the forum, I read that people usually recommend traveling (at max) 2 countries in such a short time. However, I would like to focus on some key highlights in different countries. I would love your advise on the following itinerary:

Amsterdam - > Bangkok (3 days, including departure from Amsterdam)
Travel to Chiang Mai (1 day)
Chiang Mai (3 days)
Flight to Siem Riep? (0.5 day)
Siem Riep (2.5 days)
Kuala Lumpur (3 days)
Flight -> Kuala Lumpur to Java or Sumatra (0.5 day)
Java or Sumatra (3 days)
Move to Bali (spend remaining 9-10 days there before flying back to Amsterdam).

For your information, we are a couple in our early 30s and have never been to SEA before. We would primarily like to explore different cultures and if possible explore the night life a bit as well.

Do you think flights would make the trip expensive? Are their budget airlines to fly across countries, similar to Europe? We are also considering the option of taking a world ticket from Amsterdam. Do you think that will be a cheaper option?

Will you also suggest renting a car in different countries that we visit?

Many thanks for your responses.

Well, pilfered and hoarded is a whole new category with plenty of contenders - Berlin Pergamon, British Museum etc.
Not been to the Amsterdam "attraction" but agree about the Little Mermaid and the Pisa tower - shame in away, as the rest of the cathedral and a couple of Pisa's museums, all well worth the time, get overlooked as a result. I'll nominate Ponte Vecchio for next year's award.

Hey!

We are two students (male and female) from Amsterdam. We are now at Mwanza and want to do a safari to Serengeti and Ngorongoro. We found a great tour operator (Musamin Tour Operator). The costs are much lower when the group is bigger (car fees, driver etc.). Thus we are looking for sharing our safari!
We prefer a tour of 2 nights and 3 days, where we will camp, which includes 3 tours in Serengeti and 2 in Ngorongoro.

We already found one other person to join us!

if you have only one night in Amsterdam, I would recommend to rent a bike. Biking in Amsterdam is great and you can see a lot in a short time frame. If you don't want to carry your luggage with you, I rented a locker at lockerpoint (www.lockerpoint.com) at the Damrak (close to central station, dam square, etc) and you can also rent a bike over there. Don't recall the name of the bike rental shop but it is on the same address as lockerpoint. Enjoy your time!

I would probably take out Southern France unless you have a city in mind the coast is not exactly appealing at that time of year. For the overnight train Amsterdam to Berlin i would look at either a daytime train or even fly. There is no direct overnight train you have to change twice, and arrive in Berlin very early. apart from that it looks quite good best to stick to cities at that time of the year. From Rome to Barcelona i would look at Flying or boat.

If you do decide to to miss the south of France, London would be one place i would add to. I also think unless you have planned day trips you have given to long to Prague. Rome could also easily have more days added.

Hi!

I will be in a group with 3-4 other people during the week of 05/28-06/04. We will be in Amsterdam for 3 days and traveling to either Belgium or Germany for the remainder of our trip. Any recommendations of where to go? And we want to experience some nightlife while there as well.

Thank you!

Thanks for replying.

1st Feb - 6th Feb: Planning to stay in Salzburg and do one day trip to Innsbruck, Hallstatt if conditions are good enough and rest of the days explore Salzburg.

I'm interested in and around cities in Salzburg so kept more days for that.

Yes, flying from Amsterdam to Vienna is the only option.

Thanks again!
