Btw, the ESTA is not required as of yet. They have softened their stance and are gradually introducing it.

Where did you get that information?

DHS Reminds Visa Waiver Program Travelers of ESTA Requirements Effective Today

This requirement, effective today, applies to all eligible citizens or nationals traveling under the VWP. [snip] DHS will take a reasonable approach to travelers who have not obtained an approved travel authorization via ESTA, and will continue an aggressive…

Borneo

The English guy that had his visa (issued in Brunei) was quite pissed that he was not allowed through. He had taken a bus all the way to the border, and was denied entry...told that only ASEAN members could cross there (ie. Singaporeans, Malaysian, Thai, Philippine, Indonesians, Cambodians, Myanmans, etc.). He then had to wait hours for a NORTHBOUND bus to return to Kuching. So he had his visa and was still denied passage. He was duly incensed. He eventually flew to Pontianak. This was three…

Yes, there is talk of one suitcase only. Remember that she had been volunteering for nearly 3 months somewhere in Nepal before the trek, probably in one specific location, and that she hadn't been travelling around.

For what it's worth, on the blog mentioned in my initial post someone posted the following message

From: “TAAN1″
To: “Rajendra M. Dangol”
Subject: Re: Missing in Nepal?

Dear All,

We are coordinating to know whereabouts of Debie Maveau. She carries FIT TIMS card (card no. 155159)

In response to #3

The US border security team were suspicious about my employment and I admitted that I had misrepresented myself on their ESTA form after an interrogation (as I struggled to answer their questions on what being a life coach entails). I explained my situation and while they were understanding, I was denied admission. I explicitly stated that I was a prostitute as well to them so that will be on their records I’m sure.

There is nothing wrong with being economical with the truth at immigration…

Hello!

I’d like to have some info about traveling to Israel. I am from a Central Europe country, and I do not require a visa to visit Israel as a tourist, however I did read on the government’s webpage, that I should have appropriate amount of money and RESERVATION FOR FULL LENGHT of my stay, otherwise they can deny my entry to the country. Since I don’t have (and don’t want to have) a rigid schedule, I would like to do reservation maximum only for the first couple of days.
Could you please help…

Why are you worried about going to other countries in the Persian Gulf but not to Kuwait?

Kuwait has the same rules as most of the other sheikdoms of the Persian Gulf, except for the UAE. They have official policies of denying a person entrance if their passport reflects travel to the State of Israel. UAE is the only country in the region to have an official policy of not denying a person entry because of prior travel to Israel. However, it's been my experience (and that of others) that…

-- Agree with Mclarjh that the break of the century (art nouveau/ art deci)common areas of Grand Hotel are the best in Centro Historico. There is no need to stay there -- the staff is superbly polite and never refuses entry just to take a look and go upstairs unless there is some sort of private event (in which case, they tell you when to come back when the event is over.)

-- Re aforementioned Catedral: for those views, you can go to the top (7th) floor as they have terraces facing both sides…

This is what those countries do: Singapore being an example. When say a young, single Thai woman goes to Singapore for 3 weeks on a 30 day visa waiver and then returns say 2 weeks later, she may be questioned and denied entry. Have read about such a case over on Thai visa. On her second entry! Without even having overstayed the first one. Thailand immigration is at least not doing something like that.

But that's about discretion . If you are not from a 'higher risk' nationality then they…

Hi there

I have just been denied entry into Nicaragua from Costa Rica as a result of not having a Yellowfever vaccination. I have been in Costa Rica for 6 days and was in Panama for 5 days before that. I am going to bypass Nicaragua and fly straight to Guatemala but am worried that they will require proof of a Yellowfever vaccination on entry into Guatemala as a result of having travelled to Panama.

Has anyone got any advice on the above? Or experienced something similar.

Hi, me and my boyfriend have applied for WHV but haven't heard anything back yet. Has anyone heard of people being accepted or denied after disclosing previous refusal of entry to another country. We were refused entry to the us last summer as they thought we were going to work in a bar due to different messages they read on our phones. Has anyone any experience of how long on this situation the WHV processing is likely to take? Thank u!!! xxx
