No taxis to Coral Island. Go to Bali Hai and get the ferry. Don't take the tour company fast boat for 200 baht. It's a con. The main ferry costs about 30 baht.
The island itself is horrid, over run with tourists and noisy speedboats and jet skis. DO NOT rent a jet ski.
If you just have to go, buses from Ekamai cost 120 baht or so ( might have gone up ) and run every 1/2 hour all day, early to late. Taxi is over 1000 each way.

If you leave Bkk at 6am from Ekamai, you arrive Pattaya at 8 am…

I have only 33 days to go on a dream trip. I have spent hours researching and finding out some things that I would like to do. Now, I don't have the luxury of time and planning it as I go as I have done in other trips - book the first day and figure it out. It has had to be reasonably well planned and I have thought of some things that I found that interested me. I have tried to still keep in time for flexibility within the days but the days will probably need to stay reasonably set. I would…

I don't think the civets are tortured to produce the coffee, just a natural process that the animal eats coffee fruits as their normal food.
I intended to write my review yesterday, but I was busy (with traveling & eating:)))) and just wanna sleep when coming back to my room. Yep, I did try some of these cafes Tam loc, Huong mai, Trung nguyen, Mai. Coffee tastes differently in these places. First is Trung nguyen cafe, quite good, yes it is a famous coffee brand in Vietnam, but I don't really…

No! Don't take the B2 from Yuen Long: it's a long stop-and-go route to the border.

Instead, get off West Rail at Tin Shui Wai Station and take Bus B2P: it's non-stop from Tin Shui Wai Station to the border.

Shenzhen Bay Crossing is great if you're headed to Shekou, but not all that great if you're headed to the airport area, at least by public transport. Particularly since there's no Metro at the crossing; the nearest station is well over a km away. Plus, the newish Airport Express service has…

I met a girl last year who said Koh Wai was too quiet to stay more than one night.

Yes, have met several people who thought the same.
Others enjoy seeing and experiencing different islands so nothing wrong with visiting several islands.
Ko chang will have the best choice of dive operators plus you can dive out of ko kood as well.
Ko wai has no dive shops and I have never seen any coming over from ko chang for diving, so my guess is diving is better elsewhere.

I had bad expereince of travelling by bus from Shihanoukville to SR some years ago, but good one with flight from SR to PP then, around 100USD, just take a look at Angkor air web yesterday for next month trip, super cheap! You should check it now, no need to take bus! Also if you want to save time and energy, you can think about flying from PP to HCM, not too expensive.
Travelling by sleeper train in VN is good, of course more expensive than bus but more comfortable too.
From Danang to Hue…

Yeah, VERY true about the traffic! But it's NOT just 600-700 meters from the Ben Thanh bus stop to the Hong Han Guesthouse, that may be about right to the very beginning of PNL, but the OP's guesthouse is more like double that.
So, walk it if you want, you know what they say "only mad dogs and Englishmen."
Humm, on reflection you likely don't know "what they say" that quote is from a song by Noel Coward written in 1931 while driving from Hanoi to Saigon. The full lyric is "only mad dogs and…

Yep, you gots to follow the rules; have a guide and pay the cash. I was in Bhutan for two weeks in September-October. Not sure what your reasons for going are but you could save some money and see more by going to Tibet. While you would be helping to pay for the citizens' education and healthcare by going to Bhutan (that's where the cash goes, which is awesome) the sites are lackluster (may newly rebuilt due to butter lamp fires or earthquakes), the roads perilous, and food horrendous. The…
